Perhaps someday I may see how it feels to have something done as Lucas did to the OOT. But, at this moment in time, I don't really care if he makes changes to the PT. I guess you could say that I welcome change.

Any change to the Prequels would be welcome, but even those should be preserved in thier original versions...to me it makes about as much sense as taking a famous painting like the Mona Lisa making a copy of it, then Da Vinci painting corn rows into her hair and a Hummer in the background, then refusing to acknowlegde the original painting, saying it doesn't exist anymore...(being dramatic.)

I don't care that Adam prefers the new stuff Lucas is barfing up, I just want him to stop making out like we are old senile losers for liking the originals. Plus, if the prequels and SEs had been weel done, I would like them, but they're not. They are badly written, badly planned and badly executed, no matter what age you are or whetehr you grew up with the OT or not. This nostalgia excuse is just a weak cover for bad movies and additions. Nobody can tell me that the CGI Jabba looks good and it's just my nostalgia getting in the way. Catwoman is a bad movie. It's not that I prefer Tim Burton's take on Catwoman, it's not that I prefer the old TV show I grew up with - it's just a shit movie.

P.S Adam, never, ever PM me again. I can't reply to them, and I don't want to see any more messages from you than I already am being forced to on these boards.

Adam...I seriously, seriously suggest you leave this forum.....or at least give it a break for a week or two.

You're pissing a lot of people off and a previous poster is right: you are baiting people here.

You have brought up Blade Runner and the Narnia books in an attempt to entice arguement. I'm not saying that we have any power to get rid of you, but someone can start a thread asking for opinions on whether or not you should be banned. I'm more than sure that the majority would support banning you and Jay would definitely take notice. Whether or not he does anything is up to him, but you are on thin ice as is.

All I'm saying is you should lay off.

As for the rest of us.....we all need to just ignore Adam. He's getting off on the stir he's causing. If you see a post of his, just skip over it and pretend it doesn't exist. I am not wasting my time on this kid anymore. He hasn't seen the OOT and he's bringing up other movies and books to keep his arguements going. He's a troll, plain and simple. Only thing is.....he's a troll that doesn't exist to me anymore and I do hope he gets banned cuz we don't need his crap around here.

Or, as I prefer to put it, fuck off.

Wow, not more than an hour ago, I was having lunch with my girlfriend and explaining (and complaining) to her how new releases of The Chronicles of Narnia changed the numerical order to chronological. Not trying to fuel this debate (?) anymore (it doesn't need my help, obviously), but I think it's an interesting coincidence.

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

the best course of action when it comes to adam is to just ignore him. YIYF, also, it is probably a good idea to not care what adam thinks of you. Who cares if he thinks that we are a bunch of losers for liking the OOT? I certainly don't care what he thinks about me as I also don't care what everyone else on these boards thinks about me. I just chose not to allow anything negative that they may think about me to affect me. It can be done, just takes practise. Adam, you do need to think about what you are posting on these forums from now on. By now, you know what buttons not to push with certain posters; so think about what you type in the interest of keeping this forum a friendly enviornment. I will read what you have to say, but I will willingly ignore any baiting and the like from you.

If adam likes the PT and doesn't like the OOT, that's his perogative. Of course, it might be a good idea to see the OOT first; which he has said he will do. I am sure that once he gets older, his views on things will change, I know mine did. I'm not as big of an SW fan now that I'm older. I still enjoy the movies, but they are not so much of a focus in my life anymore. Other things have become more of a focus in my life nowadays. This is why I have decided that posting in these types of threads are somewhat of a waste of my time. It really doesn't do any of us any good to complain and moan about how Lucas has gone nuts and ruined everything. I agree with the sentiment, but I find it counter productive to complain about it. Now I will step down from my soap box and be on my way.

Lucas has nothing to redeem himself for as far as I am concerned.

Like clockwork!

But seriously, Go-Mer... you're generally okay with me, even if I don't usually agree with you, but I think every single person here has heard your side of the argument by now. Maybe it's time to put it aside, move on, and focus on some other aspects.

You'll have to bite your tongue instead of jerking your knee every time the button is pushed, but it can be done--trust me.

This is not a fight that you can win, so why not try posting something more constructive and interesting than the same old rebuttals to every single post in every single thread?

I'd like to see it. I really would.

I did try and bite my tongue, but then I get accused of ignoring certain points.

I appreciate where you guys are coming from. I know a lot of you guys think I'm just trolling. But I am being genuine in my comments and the real reason I am here is because I care about my fellow Star Wars fans. It really makes me feel bad to know there are so many Star Wars fans who end up spending more time lamenting their fandom, than celebrating it.

Obvioulsy, thinking the prequels are just as good as the classic trilogy, I see this as an avoidable tragedy.

Like ignoring an entire thread that I made? Where did that go again?

See what I mean?

I'll take a look at it again, I thought we had reached a point where we had both made our respective cases.

Hardly. I made a number of new challenges that you failed to answer. Primarily I wanted to know in what way a Star Wars fan could overlook the gigantic flaw that I have with the prequels (Anakin's lame transformation into a whiny psycho). Or, are you admitting that my problem was finally valid and cannot be defended from any perspective?

Your problems with any give film are certainly valid to you. I'll try and respond in that thread later on more substantially, but I thought Anakin's transformation from good natured kid, to whiney teen to phsychopathic murderer, was handled fairly well.

Well, I'll certainly try being open to your point of view and we'll see if it stands up.

P.S Apparently CS Lewis requested in his will that his Narnia books were not made into movies.

Interesting. How did they get around that? I fear that George will ban the OOT from the universe with his will.

Lucas is beyond redemption as a film maker. Like the hero of the one true trilogy, Lucas and his movies are more machine than human emotion and relationships. Success and greed have twisted his ambitions from those of wanting to weave a classic tale to wanting to make it just good enough to appeal to the lowest common denominator enough for him to make a MOUNTAIN RANGE more cash. No redemption for him. He sold out to his core.
