What was that cool website with all the rare photos?

Author

It had a snazzy interface and played music as you browsed Star Wars photos grouped by film and era?

I've lost the bookmark, and it's driving me crazy trying to remember the name of the site!

Does anybody else have trouble with some parts of that site? When I click on "1977" and then on the 'rare images' section, I don't see anything but a black square. :-(

Yeah, I love that site but my computer hates it.

Make sure Flash is up to date.

If that still doesn't work and you're on Firefox, try IE. There were certain parts I couldn't get to with FF that IE got into fine.

I'm using Safari. I guess that's why.

flash is dumb because you have to leave your computer vulnerable by changing your firewall settings to get pages to display properly, or at least this has been the case for me in firefox and explorer .

I refuse to allow such programs to put junk on my computer, if they cannot put up a page in html then they won't see me visiting there page.

I have the same problem with the new bond movie site, quantum of Solace. and i have the latest updates from the adobe.

I agree. If I have trouble accessing the info on a site- I just don't go there anymore.

I have a brand-new computer, and Safari is the only browser on it. I'm not going to download another browser for the sole purpose of visiting that site.

EDIT: Well, my sister has IE on her computer, and I couldn't access the photos on it, either. Screw it. :-P

Those auditions in the 1976 section just go on and on...and they're so wordy...

Yeah, I gotta say, I really wish your site wasn't flash. It's just so... clunky. And it doesn't work for me either :(

Maybe a polite email or two explaining the problems you're having, (and which browsers choke on the site) would be a good idea?

I've been thinking about doing that - is there an email address listed on the site? If so, it's one of the many things I can't see there. :-P

What I got off the site is: info@starwarsarchives.com

While I was housecleaning, I found an old video retail sales booklet for one of the Ewok movies someone gave me ages ago, so I want to see if they have a use for it. :)

Thanks, I've just sent an email off.

Seems like a lot of people are having trouble accessing the info on the site. Maybe if we all send an email, they'll make the site a bit more user-friendly. Couldn't hurt. ;-)

I tried to watch some of the videos today, and only the audio worked. First time I've had real trouble with the site.

OK- here's the deal- I emailed the site owner, and I got an email back saying that you have to go to THIS site: http://www.starwarsarchives.com NOT http://starwarsarchives.com.

It definitely makes a difference, because now I can see all the photos I couldn't before! :)

You should email the site owner, because he said that if anyone was still having problems they should let him know.

I haven't tried the pdf downloads yet, so I don't know if they'd work for me.

Hi There,

I'm just one guy with a full time job so it usually takes me some time to get things done on the website ;)

However like SilverWook said: if people don't tell me if something is wrong with the website I won't know about it because it works like a charm for me. And I really really love Flash (not Gordon mind you).

If you tell me what the problems are if you're having any I will do my best to fix them though it may take some time. I have just received a whole lotta more serverspace so I will be re-uploading all the video's and images in better quality. I also have a lot of magazines ready that i will be uploading to the site very soon.

By the way: the website also has a non-flash section that has loads of the images from the website already in high-res. You can check it www.starwarsarchives.com/forums or it's sisterforum www.starwarsarchives.com/moviesforum out or send me an email if you need help info@starwarsarchives.com

skyjedi2005: to help you out with the Cinefex pdf's here are the direct links for you. I hope you enjoy them.

Cheers,

Darth Neo

Thank You very much. I have the official black and white photocopies of these issues from cinefex, but they are not in color and jedi is missing some pages.

I already own the three american cinematographers. I have the rolling stone empire stikes back and star wars articles i am only missing the return of the jedi one.

I have the yuma daily sun revenge of the jedi piece.

You would'nt happen to have the pressbooks and press kits from 1977-1983?

Now if i can only find someone who have the american cinematographers and cinefex issues for the first 3 indiana jones movies.
