For some reason I’m itching to play a Spidey game as good as 2 on PS2. Have any of the PS3 era titles been with playing?
Btw I hated Ultimate. Just a huge letdown.
Why don’t they realize all we want to do is swing around and have fun is beyond me…just like they thought we didn’t want a fantastic next gen Indy game…

I have no idea what Spider-Man games are good or bad, but they did tease a new one coming out for the PS4 at E3 this year…

The only good one was the one that came out about 2000 that has you stopping a bank robbery on first level. That game is fucking gold. Its best on pc but it was also ported to ps1, n64, and maybe dreamcast.
If anybody wants to try it out it works perfectly on my Windows out straight from the disc even with it’s age.
I remember playing that on N64 at a friend’s house back in the day. It was before I was really into superheroes though, so I never really got into it.

FACTS, man! I love that game and the sequel was alright too. Lot’s of hidden collectables and easter-eggs. All the costumes (ALL of the costumes!) and narration by Stan Lee! Perfect for it’s time. And the re-worked theme on the menu screen is fantastic. It’s right up there with the Ramones cover.
Indeed. I’m not really even in to super heroes but that’s just a fun game. I play it on my pc from time to time with aps3 controller.
Finally got myself an Xbox One with Batman: Arkham Knight and Fallout 4!! I’ll be very entertained for a while.

Well, I mean, x5 is really good, but nothing beats the first 3 for SNES.
I’m surprised you wouldn’t agree, since as good as 4 and 5 for PS are, but the SNES ones are undeniably more metal. Lol from the soundtrack to the tone it’s just metal.
Although all the X games have a great soundtrack. Except 7 but everything about that one is awful. 8 makes up for it tho.
Being able to play as Zero and the way the game ends puts it over the original 3 for me.

X7 was so bad I am never going to play X8. I don’t think I can.
Also I remember that you can play as Zero in X3 but the controls were abysmal in comparison to how Zero’s controls in X4 and X5
You can play as zero in 3, there’s a Rom hack that even lets you play as him unlimitedly. I Agree that zero is pretty bitchin in the PlayStation ones, but the original 3 just have such killer tone and imagery. I felt like X was only hunting maverick in his spare time away from playing guitar for Slayer.
Abd about X8, you should seriously play it. It is exactly NOTHING like x7 other than being able to take 2 characters to a level. Its a pure homage to the first 5, incorporating elements from both the SNES and PS ones. Its tone and music honor the SNES games but it has a lot of features of the PS ones too, and zeros sword control is fantastic. They also made axl a unique and useful player instead of just a weaker X with autofire and shape shifting. Except for 2 levels it’s all 2d too and those are just autoscroll JetBlue levels.
Take it from someone who loves the first 5 and hates 7 (6 is just meh), 8 is a great experience. You can tell they actually tried on this one to please the fans. It even has decent voice acting. (Ever played the RPG MMX command mission? It uses the same actors from that)

Eh. The originals are fun and obviously get major props for starting the whole thing but the X series is, in my opinion, better in every conceivable way.
Although I do like the originals. 3s my favorite.

I played Doom 4’s multiplayer for a while, but the lack of F4A, the amateurish new platform (loadouts, seriously?), and rampant cheating have pushed me away.
I started playing the Unreal Tournament 4 alpha instead, and while the menu system isn’t polished at all, the in-game action is the real deal. Fast-paced, great maps, lots of fun — and free because it’s community-developed 😃

I agree on the tone as it was a bit darker and I wasn’t too big on X4 and X5 being lighter in comparison but I have always dug the sprites for X4 and X5 better. Mostly in part of them looking more like adults.

I wouldn’t mind him replacing Kerry King; he would have been a way stronger guitarist.

That sounds exactly like what I wanted out of X7 even though I was very enthusiastic at first about it going into 3D. Even as a kid I knew something was off.

Let’s not even get on X6. The fact that it retconned the ending in X5 is enough to discredit the game in it’s entirety. Also the X upgrades were bad; especially that weird black suit.

Having played X - X7 it’s hard to go back the originals due to the lack of Dash Boots. It makes them almost impossible for me to fully enjoy.
Every now and then I’ll play a deathmatch on Doom I or II. I like it old school, but I’ll be buying Doom 4 sometime soon. I really like the looks of it.

The single player campaign is amazing, but if you’re getting it for the MP, don’t. It’s dumbed down, especially with the loadouts (tons of players bunny hopping and blasting the entire map with rocket launchers at random because you can spawn with pretty much whatever weapons you want except for the chainsaw and BFG). And the cheating is infuriating.

It blows my mind that it’s 2016, smack in the middle of online play being applied to almost every game, and companies are still farming out their multiplayer elements to worse development teams, foregoing basic anti-cheat features, foregoing basic balancing, and basically taking a hands-off approach to the whole deal.
Just don’t put MP in if that’s your approach to it.
The Division was completely ruined by a wild lack of developer care, GTAV Online has only just gotten to the point where it’s playable without cheaters (three years later), Rainbow Six: Siege fell flat on its face right out of the gate for poor anti-cheat. It’s ridiculous.
