Does this site have a social media page?

There is an OriginalTrilogy•com twitter page, here - https://twitter.com/originaltrilogy

There is also the OriginalTrilogy•com Discord server, which you can ask to join, here - link

and this:

Join the OT.com Discord server! - in Announcements

We’ve opened an official Discord server so members of the forum can chat in real time. For the time being, we’re restricting access to forum members only.

Please PM either Anchorhead or SilverWook to get access.

When you join, please change your nickname to match your forum username. Just like forum socks, spoofing other members is against the rules and will result in a ban.

Edit: To join the Discord all members must have made at least one post on the open forums here at the OriginalTrilogy.com

PM either Anchorhead or SilverWook and ask them for a Discord invite 👍 😃

It appear many sites and forums that have Discord have seen participation in their ‘Off Topic’ or ‘General Discussion’ type sections dwindle, likely due to conversations taking place on the Discords, instead on the forums themselves.

With youtube, facebook twiter, instagram and Discord being the in thing for a while now, I wonder if forums will suffer for it long-term?

I certainly hope not 😃

Youtube comment sections usually turn into a cesspool, twitter is a cesspool, and I’ve seen too many facebook threads vanish into thin air to ever trust it. The redesign they’re about to force down people’s throats isn’t an improvement so far either. I don’t see how important conversations and technical info can be retrieved on discord months or years from now.

Hokey apps and social media are no match for a good forum at your side, kid. 😉
