You think so? It doesn’t feel obvious to me at all. I mean, his ghost is barely visible as it is.
It might be obvious to us as fan editors, but do you think it would have been obvious to general audiences? Or friends/family members who we might show this fan edit to?

hahahaha we are very fans, surely any mortal would not have been recognized immediately, but we have bionic eyes 🤣🤣. 😃

Hahaha, we have watched these movies so many times that each shot is almost burned into our memory! But to me, I think the potential that someone might recognize that shot is better than the it feeling like a still image of Obi-Wan. At least we see his head move, and it doesn’t feel like the ghost of a cardboard cutout.

Believe me, I am not criticizing your work, I think it is fantastic so far. But I would rather pick at it in order to perfect it, because it has so much potential. I do think version 3 might be the best of both worlds, though. I think his head in version 3 is a little big compared to his head in version 2, so I wonder how it would look if it his head was slightly smaller. I do think the slight motion you added to him definitely helps make it feel more real.

I’ll go with version 3. Or 1, in alternative.
2 is probably the most recognizable.

Episode IV - THE HEIR OF SKYWALKER. Episode VI - RETURN OF THE JEDI RENEWED. DYAD IN THE FORCE (3-into-1 sequels).

Honestly, I think they’re all fine. I probably lean towards 2 or 3.

Damn. It’s subtle, but just enough to make it feel alive. That is the best one so far, I think.

Author

I agree. And the others were already pretty damn good.

Did John Williams record something for the moment in TFA that ended up using ‘Burning Homestead,’ and if so, do we have it?

It’s on The Force Awakens soundtrack ‘The Ways of the Force’ at 0:11.

edit:
I did not understand your question hahaha, but I have already understood it

the fragment of the ways of the force is not as powerful as burning homestead

I was wondering, if it were as powerful whether it would be good to consider.

He already said it’s not as powerful, and I agree with him. You can hear the alternate version here:

I understand why JJ chose to replace it with Burning Homestead in editing, and I think Burning Homestead is a good choice for the force ghost scene as well.

My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:

I still think the second one works the best. I would say the Yoda footage is way more recognisable as reused footage but I am totally fine with both because it looks flawless.

I just wanted to add my two cents because I have watched this over and over today. It is absolutely impeccable what you have achieved here and it makes me incredibly happy. Well done!

He even resembles Shaw a little.

But don’t you think it’s strange to show a version of Anakin that we’ve never seen?

Tell that to the majority on this forum who for some reason insist on using Shaw.

What about something like this for Anakin?

the result is incredible !!! is very good! But don’t you think it’s strange to show a version of Anakin that we’ve never seen?

I mean, it would be logical to use young anakin, or directly to Sebastian shaw …

it is my opinion 😉

As cool as this is, I feel like it would be odd to be watching a marathon of the saga and have either the Shaw or Christensen version of Anakin at the end of ROTJ and then have an amalgamation of the two at the end of TROS. However, if I had a version of this hybrid Anakin in both films I think it be super cool!

I would like a version with sebastian Shaw, to do a test … but with hayden aged, it is strange

all fault of lucas, for changing Shaw for hyden in ROTJ hahahaha

I think there are good arguments for Shaw, but suffice to say that I actually wouldn’t feel right with either Hayden or Shaw (or even an aged up Hayden) since even at the time ROTJ came out many people were unimpressed with the Shaw Force ghost. It’s a no-win situation to include a visual representation of Anakin unless his face is somehow obscured.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I think adding 10-15 years to Rots Anakin would suffice in making him look different for the ST

I agree, having him appear at least a little older would help. Everyone else consistently appear as they did when they died.

I was thinking about semi-aged Hayden in the context of having him come in and film. If it’s a fan edit anyway, why not mock up Shaw and see how it plays?

My stance on revising fan edits.
