Looking forward to a version of the GOUT filled with love, passion, and worthy of the name, Star Wars.

Well, I meant there were certain aspects of certain scenes that looked a lot closer to the original colors (compared to the technicolor print) in some of the new screen shots, but the flesh tones, as always, tend to be tricky.

I agree that Luke doesn't even look white in some of those shots, it's a serious problem that needs fixed, but Obi-Wan looked much better in other scenes compared to how Luke looked. The skin tones are so tough to get right. Hopefully that's something that can be solved, if not, then I say go with the V3 colors, as they are good overall. But it would be great to get back as much of that vibrancy the film has as possible.

Looking forward to the V3 DVD set, which looks to be the best at restoring the original unaltered trilogy we've yet seen. :)

And that HD footage is looking really good. If some way can be found to keep as much detail as possible, while reducing grain *just* enough to make it look good on an HD tv, without the plastic artificial look to the people, then that would be great. :)

The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.

Now that is what is making this take so long, but I think the last sample is a pretty good trade off, have you looked it over?

Yeah, I saw the video with Uncle Owen and Luke. It looked really good on my monitor, had some natural film grain, but looked fine. Uncle Owen and Luke looked normal, didn't notice any oddness to their appearance. Would probably look a little different on a tv, though. Is that video using the latest settings?

I'll have to look at the other larger video sample, but it will take hours to get it. Might want to try megaupload next time, it's 10x faster. ;)

Yea the sample in post #1884 is the most current, if you can look at that one.

All the samples that Dark Jedi has posted have Uncle Owen and Luke.

Reading your posts is giving me a headache. please no more about LeeThorogood's color correction, please.

I mean the video of Uncle Owen and Luke purchasing the droids, with no other scenes in it. And I said that I had not seen the larger video that he had uploaded yet, so obviously I had to mean the previous smaller video sample. :)

lol at "BluGOUT."

Note that I think it's a great title, it just struck me as funny.

It is pretty funny, truth be told, I actually HATE the term GOUT, just sounds stupid to me, like a disease or something, Ricardo and I make fun of this term all the time, but that is what you guys here use, so I guess I will have to as well.

Hey DJ, if you hate GOUT, then why not call it BUTT (Blu Unaltered Theatrical Trilogy)? :-)

In any case, this looks excellent. The clips are coming along nicely for something sourced from the GOUT.

It's been some pages so i'll try again.   Previously suggested was : GOLD (CC)

George's Original LaserDisc (Color Corrected)

GOLD removes the disease metaphor/negative connotations.  Adds a little irony in that such value can be found from something so "worthless" by current media standards.  CC lets everyone know the Colors have been manipulated.  Then to show that this presentation has been raised to current media standards, tack on the BR.  GOLD(CC)BR or GOLD:CC:BR

Dark_jedi really did spin gold out of garbage with this project. (tm)

I like what I see...I say its beautiful, time to burn! :)

But judging by the comments I'm not the only one who like it.

I played your latest sample on the big screen and my wife and kids both said that its the best sample yet. yes, they've seen the previous two samples.

Now I didn't see that coming, not many people even know who he is, I just wish him a speedy recovery from his back issues(which I think he is OK with that now) and the Heart surgery he had, he NEEDS to get back into the Studio and on stage again, I know I would LOVE to see him a few more times before he retires.

Nah i'm sticking with metallurgy jokes today so AuBr3.  auric bromide, digold hexabromide, gold tribromide.  Atomic #35 - Bromine.

So for maximum confusion how'bout - DJAU:cc:BR  - Dark_Jedi's (George's Original Laser Disc) Changed Colors Blu-Ray... so when you take the derivative of the exponent... Dark_Jedi's Awesome Unofficial : Color Corrected : BluRay.

But here's how you would use this title idea in practical situations:

(When you enter a SW chat room and someone asks)

"Pardon me, Star Wars fan, would you happen to have any Blu-DJAU?"

You reply:

"Well of course."

then some random voice pops in and says:

"Blu-DJAU, one of life's finer pleasures"

None, I think you've just blown my emotions.

Anyway, I've been lurking this thread for a long while and I'm getting the impression that this is nearing completion. Just wanted you to know I'm looking forward to it DJ.

Has anyone listened to the audio commentary on the Gonzo & Cowclops V2 set? are they the same? is one better than the other? I was thinking(actually someone requested) about adding one of these to the audio line up, what does everyone think? hopefully if it is wanted it won't be much to sync, also I just encoded hairy_hens SW 70mm and ESB purist and ROTJ purist to DTS-HD MA 5.1 files, so audio for this project is just about finished, then to start rendering the video.

Yeah, I'm not a metal fan by any stretch but in college some friends got me into Them and Conspiracy.

Those are GREAT albums, and I saw both concerts live, he actually had the Grandma's House on stage, it was DAMN COOL!

I'd be curious to know how much of an improvement there actually is with using lossless for the 5.1 mixes over ac3 448.  Might affect how motivated I am to try to mess with newsgroups again (props to Satanika for uploading them).

Regarding the latest sample in post #1884, I downloaded it and streamed it to my TV a few hours ago. What can I say? It looks AMAZING!!! There's no doubt in my mind that this is probably the best quality we'll ever see the OT presented in and I am very excited for that.
