The tragedy of Anakin Skywalker is that an evil pupil of Obi Wan Kenobi's name Darth Vader did not actually kill him.

I can't tell you how many TFN'ers have posted that they just wont recognize the ST, as they still believe that Lucas isn't involved in it at all. They said the ST is like the EU, it exists, but it won't get into the way of their pretty little 'Tragedy of Anakin Skywalker' story.

The tragedy of Anakin Skywalker (as PT portrays it) is that he in fact wasn't a good person before he became Vader, but rather a disgusting, short-tempered, whiny, ungrateful, hypocritical moron. :)

I don't see anything wrong with the TFN comments. For someone into the "saga", I would have to agree that ROTJ pretty well wrapped it up. I'm just not into the "saga", and I think that SW is more enjoyable and more timeless as a standalone movie about Luke. The other movies being fun afterthoughts. If I were into the "saga" of it all, I'd probably feel as they do.

I completely agree. I don't see anything in the comments that were posted that make the TFNers seem crazy. They just like a few bad movies.
I think the point of brining up the TFN posts is that these are the same people who despise us for not including the PT in our vision of the "saga" doing the exact same thing for movies that don't even exist yet.

Well, as people, yes they are crazy. I just don't find these particular posts crazy. In fact, they are among the most sane things I've seen written on TFN -- although that is not to say that I agree with them.... I don't. We write almost identical things in reference to 4-6 as opposed to 1-6.
What it does do, is illustrate that their mindset isn't that Star Wars can do no wrong -- it's that Lucas can do no wrong. Both of which are laughable, by the way.

I have to agree, those quotes are not the usual insane ramblings to be found most other places around TFN. Those quotes do, however, illustrate how desperate TFN'ers are to cling to a trio of movies that are essentially fan fic authored by a person that doesn't really seem to understand why the OT worked.
The funniest posts I've seen in a while were from TFN'ers that were furious over the news that Abrams is going to shoot EPVII on 35mm film - As if this is a huge step backwards and Abrams is basically spitting in George's face by not shooting digital.
Classic
“In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be “replaced” by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten.” - George Lucas
I actually totally understand where the TFNers are coming from on this front. When looked at as a six film saga, yeah, it's more or less about Anakin. The focus shifts more to Luke in the OT but I can see where they might be coming from, Luke's story is an essential compliment to Anakin's.
What they're failing to see is that the Star Wars films could be looked at as a saga of something else. PT is about Anakin. OT is about Luke. ST will (hopefully) be about his son. Taken as a whole, these films could be (and hopefully will be) seen as a trilogy of trilogies about the Skywalkers and the galaxy they inhabit. Through this context, the ST is a natural extension of the saga. PT and OT aren't volume 1. PT is volume 1. OT is volume 2. ST is volume 3. And they all make up one large story. That's how I look (or will look) at it anyway, if all goes well.

You guys are misunderstanding why I posted these comments. For years and years they have talked down to people like me who said that Lucas's grand vision was never 6 movies, as he was making it up all along. Darth Vader was never Lukes father in 1977, Leia wasn't Lukes brother til 1983, etc.....
I remember arguing with someone on TFN in 2005 about how Episode IV: A New Hope wasn't inserted until 1981 movie release. He said, "That's baloney, the Saga has always been 6 movies about the Tragedy of Anakin Skywalker since 1977 and must be watched 1-6 so deal with it!"
The irony now is that THEY are the ones who are saying the same things to people like me (They wont recognize the ST the same way we didn't recognize the PT), and has proven my point that Lucas has been making this shit up since day one. First it was a standalone movie in 1977, then 9 or 12 episodes in the early 80's, then 6 episodes in the 1990's, and now back to 9 episodes in 2013.
The point is they believed Lucas all these years, and they screamed at us for only seeing the saga as the OOT (3 movies), and now they are doing the same thing only recognizing 6 movies. We are all smart enough to not take Lucas at his word, they have yet to grasp that concept.

That's the thread I was referencing. I can't be bothered to read anything else over there.
Seeing as the term "Star Wars Saga" existed long before the prequels were ever made and that "Tragedy of Darth Vader" bullshit was made up, all I can say to those TF.Ners is this
I rather like John de Lancie :-D
^WRONG ACTOR!
I don't care what Disney does as long as they don't rerelease the holiday special or make a new one because that will be a nightmare.
What’s worse George Lucas changing the OT or selling the rights to Disney

Making a NEW star wars holiday special... now THAT is an idea that I could definitely get on board with. But only if George Lucas directs, and Justin Bieber stars in it. If CPY is also in it, it will be the greatest thing of all time.

^ Harrison Ford and Benedict Cumberbatch on Graham Norton last ngiht (Warning also contains Jack Whitehall). Some brief Star Wars chat and tomfoolery from about 18 minutes in. Interesting that when Benedict is asked if he's gonna be in EpVIII he declines to answer. So it's fair to assume he's being considered for a role at least.
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.
Harrison always talks slow (nothing to do with his age) and the show is so fast paced, I felt sorry for him, but I think he genuinely enjoyed himself.
His reply to acting in another Indy film was good, and as he said he could act the older Dr Jones like Sean Connery did.
The Episode 7 question was handled well, mentioned, joked about then moved on.
Harrison's hairstyle was the most 'Han Solo' style he's had in years.

The short:
Rise of the Jedi and Return of the Sith were titles given by Lucas to Disney for consideration.
So IF Latino Review's story is truthful (big IF), then this is potentially very spoilerish of the ideas that George has "downloaded" to JJ Abrams, and does not give me much faith in where this series is headed. If Lucas really has so little inkling of the possibilities of this franchise that he can only think that bringing back the Sith after they were finally destroyed is a good idea, then JJ might as well give up right now. Either that or ignore Lucas's suggestions and do his own thing.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
