Better keep that thing under 24 hour armed guard, lest it leak on the interwebs. I'm sure a fake one will appear before long either way. ;)

Where were you in '77?

And JJ will be hated for something in the fake script.

Last rumor: Judi Dench as Mon Mothma

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/65823

I don't think it's true cause: 1, she's not looking the part, IMO. and 2 the original actress is still alive and acting as far as I know.

But I think she could be okay in a SW movie.

Hope that's not true. I hate when a role is recast when the original actor was available.

 Truth.

He could be like the Skywalker/Solo kids cool uncle in EpVII. Who takes them out to Rock concerts and buys them Beer and Death-Sticks.

This is an excellent name for a metal band.

A picture is worth a thousand words. Post 102 is worth more.

I’m late to the party, but I think this is the best song. Enjoy!

I want Lando to sport a large Afro, wear platform shoes, and talk in 70's slang in the ST.

What if the sequel trilogy causes more problems with continuity.  Will films 1-6 get an additional redo to fit 7-9?

I know screw continuity and canon if necessary to create a fun and entertaining movie.  Is what seems to be the general consensus. I mean is not that what Abrams did with the last 2 star trek films.

The last 2 star trek films were reboots, these are sequels.  Completely different situations.

Yeah, JJ's take on Star Trek was specifically designed to be completely different.  Reinventing the wheel, if you will.

I think most of the people involved on Ep VII, however, will be much more invested in revisiting the elements that made the OT so great, and seemed to be missing from the PT.  In his case, the OT was the wheel, and the PT was a leak in the wheel.  The ST will patch the leak and refill the wheel, haha.

I will wait until I see the film...

Agreed.  I should have stated that this is just what I'm hoping to be true.  I didn't mean to claim it as fact.

The most interesting thing about these sequels for me will probably be years after they are released, and people are evaluating the George Lucas Star Wars versus the Lucas-less Star Wars. It will be interesting to see whether people look at the prequels with a more forgiving eye based on what JJ did to the franchise, or if they will wish JJ had done the prequels. In short, how easy will it be to capture the fun adventure spirit of Star Wars? I have no idea, and that's pretty exciting in any case.

He may not be the best director in the world, but there is absolutely zero chance that JJ could ever make a movie as bad as the PT.

For my own clarification:
If JJ makes a movie that blows, are you thinking that one of the possibilities is that people like the Red Letter Media guy will say to themselves, "I guess the PT wasn't that bad after all."?  I'm not trying to challenge your statement, I just want to make sure that's what you mean.

I'm saying that if JJ fails to make a good Star Wars movie, and the next guy fails as well, people may come to see the property as "cursed" or simply think that the balance that was struck in the OT is trickier to get right than is assumed. None of us (as far as I am aware of) has ever made a Star Wars movie, so it seems kind of presumptuous to say "I could make a better movie than that!" Maybe, but then again perhaps the prequels could never have been great despite what we imagine, and people may simply accept that after every new movie is a letdown.

Of course Episode 7 will probably be a worthy contender with the OT and in that case I will happily stand corrected.

IMO, the prequels could never have been great with the choice to focus on the backstory of Darth Vader.

Honestly, who thought "Huh... I'd like to see what he was like as a little boy!" after hearing "Commander, tear this ship apart until you've found those plans, and bring me the passengers. I want them alive!"?

Even post-"I am your father!" and post-redemption, who honestly gave a shit about how Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader?

There were many other story possibilites for the PT. The Fall of Anakin Skywalker/Rise of Darth Vader should have been left for a cheap EU paperback novel you'd find in a drug store.

I don't know, I never expected the prequels to be about anything else but it didn't need to be the sole focus - it may have been better as Obi-Wan's story, with the fall of Anakin as just a smaller part of that story.
