what do you guys think of Vader going into hyperspeed? is it a good idea?

This is such a good idea with great execution! Can’t believe nobody thought of this.

Yeah it’s about time somone did this. Looks good will be nice to hear it with hyperspace engine sound effect.

On the next shot Yavin looks color shifted far to green in all versions I have seen. Needs to be more Blue suggest correct that also there is no sound for the accompanying ships only the falcon engines can be heard.

Millenium falcon also has strange trajectory angle issues not that bad but something is off with the position of that element.

Wild idea. The holograms in ANH were done by filming the footage displayed on a TV. Would… would that look good if you tried it that way?

I’ll try that…

Are you going to show like scout ships going to Dantooine and a star destroyer orbiting?

Then the guy will look like he is reporting from a star destroyer or fleet at Dantooine…

Nothing to flashy but that would avoid universe shrinkage too and be a complimentary addition to the hologram.

It would be also good to show the falcon on the ID screen from ROTJ in wireframe before radioing in to Tarkin about the markings. You know the Lambda shuttle security code screen. There is an alarm from the theatrical trailer that I think was meant for the security alert to compliment troopers running about. Not entirely needed but again would be a nice touch.

Interesting, a bit of a nitpick but I feel like the glitch effects are a bit digital and not analog-looking to the characteristics of actual VHS tape glitches. I suggest using NTSCqt for VHS emulation to really hone it down and make it match the “analog TV” look of holograms in the OT.

Looking at the full quality file, I think the issue is actually that the edges of the model fall off into darkness which doesn’t look right when placed in front of a bright explosion. It would probably be a good idea to use a 3d model so you could get some light bleed from the explosion on the ship model as it passes in front of it. Another option would be to put some blur on the physical model as it passes the explosion and/or more aggressively matte out the edges during those frames.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
