I just found my 2-disc CD-ROM set of Behind the Magic. I don't have uploader status at MySpleen, but is there anyone who does who would want to upload it? (If there is interest, of course.)

I used to be very active on this forum. I’m not really anymore. Sometimes, people still want to get in touch with me about something, and that is great! If that describes you, please email me at [my username]ATgmailDOTcom.

Hi everybody. You’re all awesome. Keep up the good work.

I for one would love to have behind the magic. Someone made a DVD out of Making Magic, and this would be a good companion to that.

I second that, and from what i can gather there is quite a few others after keen to see Behind the Magic aswell. Fanfiltration did the Making Magic convert to DVD. Is there a lot of work involved in making this into a DVD?

hi guys, just joined up with the forum. very happy to be here.

so i moved out to japan not too long ago, and foolishly left all forms of the films in the states. and to be expected.. nostalgia hit me real hard the other day, which had me impatiently resorting going to the local store to pick up the japanese version of the films.. but then, when i got there, the prices added up in my head, and thus slapped with some sense. i mean, one, i dont have a dvd player out here, let alone a television set... but equipment aside, the price... which, generally speaking, is "pricey," but "fine," relatively speaking.. but even still in light of... already owning the laser discs back home, 2 vhs sets, and all the dvds.. i couldn't do it

so i thought of turning to torrents.

this convenient package i found on btjunkie.com - star wars -complete widescreen editions.. appears to be what i need to help stave this crave.. at least for the moment.. although the transfer is terribly slow. would any one be willing to help seed?

thanks in advance!

I'm inclined to say "yes, it would be a hell of a lot of work."

Making Magic was a fairly small amount of data on a CD. It doesn't take you long to play through it and see everything on the disc. Behind The Magic, however, is huge. Not only is it 2 CDs, but they are crammed full of hundreds of stills, text pieces, and bits of multimedia. It takes a a day or two at least just to look at it all. Taking that into consideration, one can only imagine how much time it would take to actually convert every last bit of it to a DVD. Plus, the multimedia stuff is in a strange proprietary format that I was never able to do much with.

Not that I want to discourage anyone from attempting such a project. My hat is off to anyone who feels they can tackle it.

Let's hope that the reason we haven't heard from FanFiltration in the past few days (at least here in the Star Wars Releases forum) is because he's hard at work going through Behind the Magic and making the DVD.

To contact me outside the forum, for trades and such my email address is my OT.com username @gmail.com

Seriously in need of seeders for the Editdroid ESB and RJ at myspleen . . .

I'm seeding the Mysterious Mysteries and Deleted Magic, but the above downloads haven't gone anywhere in several days.

There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

OKAY GANG!!

Since alot of folks seem concerned that the forthcoming DVD's will NOT be anamorphic (I don't mind at all as I asked for the OT not a restored OT) SO the qeostion here is what ANAMORPHIC set should I upload for those that WANT the OT in an anamorphic format??

I'll need a few weeks but please let me know what YOU THE FANS want me to upload!!!!

I vote for Dr M's Reinventing the Wheel Trilogy. I've heard much and would love to see it.

I would also like Citizen's NTSC version. I can play PAL but it makes it harder to share with others. I'm all about spreading the faith.

I'd love to get Dr. M's if someone could hook me up via PM

Torrents work too, but my connection is pretty slow

Citizen single or dual layer please, although I have to admit I would prefer PAL, as Moth3r's set has convinced me that the extra vertical resolution afforded by PAL transfers yields a significant improvement, even on my crappy television. It is by far my favourite set of transfers (so far).

Actually, maybe someone can clear that up...does the Citizen NTSC set look EXACTLY like the PAL set, only enabled to play on region 1 DVD players, or does it actually lose resolution by becoming NTSC compliant?

Hmmmm,

The Citizen's discs are what I had in mind also They are damn hott! (I just burned a DL version to really test it)

I just watched the IV for about 20 minutes and well DAMN it looks sweet! The Dr. M's are also very nice and might even edge out the EditDroid set..... (okay it's been about 9 months since I've watched SW so I've not yet had time to watch all the latest transfers)

BUT if I had to rate the top three NTSC discs today,

3. Tied at #3 are both Dr. Gonzo's & Dr. M's Reinventing the Wheel Edition (both anamorphic 16:9)
2. EditDroid (letterboxed 4:3)
1. Citizen (anamorphic 16:9)

Oh, and for PAL I say MOTHER's set rules them all

Moth3r's ANH is definitelyt hot! But if youi decide to do Citizen's I would think NTSC is the way to go to complement the Moth3r. I'll leave it up to you but I hope you up both Citizen and Dr. M.

I'd vote for the Dr. M set because it's completed. Maybe then someone could post Citizen when it's finished.

Either way, of course, thanks for the generosity.
