Why, it’s already in Book of Boba? He’s barely a character in this movie.

It could be cute as a post-credits scene, but I don’t think it belongs in the movie proper.

There will be no post credits scene in ROTJ:R. I’m in the process of rewriting the change list for the first post which will go more in-depth as to the changes planned. But i can say that Yub Nub and Lapti Nek will be back. I’ve always hated the two new tracks that replaced those.

Hey Ady,
I’m dying to see just a screenshot of ROTJ:R, It doesn’t have to be with The effects, the color grade is enough for my cravings.

I’m guessing the “Boba Fett dies definitively” change is gone, yes?

I’ll certainly look forward to checking your latest descriptions out. And personally speaking, it just wouldn’t sound like the ‘true’ ROTJ for me without the original tracks in those scenes, so I’m pleased about that decision.

One thing I will say about the SE ending is that it definitely feels like more of a saga finale, but with the sequels out now I think Yub Nub certainly has a place since it feels less like an overall conclusion to the story. Interested to see how this turns out, especially if it’s still planned to end with the funeral pyre and ghosts watching.

I still want to see a version with a definitive Boba Fett death, for the people who don’t like The Mandaloian and Book of Boba Fett. He can’t be getting in swoop chases if he got blown into bits at the sail barge fight!

I’d say just leave Boba’s “death” alone. There is nothing wrong with the original version. He’s dead for fans who don’t like the new shows but alive for those who do.

If it can be done, then I say to go about making a proper death scene for Boba Fett. There’s no way someone can actually sit through that goofy scream he makes when he’s hurtled through the air, then the Sarlacc belching afterward. The whole scene is just too silly now.

Also, before that, he says “What the!” in a voice that doesn’t sound like Jason Wingreen or Temuera Morrison.

Except for the ST, it doesn’t have to fit in with Disney’s SW canon.

I’d vote for either leaving it alone, or just trimming it a bit to be less goofy. I don’t really see what benefit would be gained from adding new material to make his death more definitive somehow, besides having the edit be explicitly incompatible with both extended universe canons. As far as ROTJ has ever been concerned, Boba isn’t getting back out of that pit. Drawing more attention to it might even wind up achieving the opposite of the intended effect by reminding the audience of his various EU survivals.

Admittedly, I’d change my mind in an instant if Adywan did something super impressive for it, though, haha.

An optional second audio track that replaces the “What the!” and scream with some appropriate, less silly Temuera Morrison vocalisations (e.g. from the Battlefront games) would be neat, though perhaps not really the direction Revisited tends to go in.

Of course Ady not only can do whatever he likes, but it’ll be impressive whatever he does concerning Boba since I am fine with his version of these movies being self contained. That’s a ok! I would agree with sade1212 that either it’s left alone or just trimmed a bit to make it less goofy. Let him fall in the Sarlacc … he’ll still be Schrodinger’s Boba Fett about surviving it or not. Lol.

Oh wow, I don’t know that I’ve heard anyone say that before.
Yub Nub is great but the victory celebration track is one of the best tracks in the entire saga!

I have a young child and the one thing I have taught about Star Wars is “Ewoks say yub nub.”

They do still say “Yub Nub” in the SE, Wicket says it to Leia when trying to get her to go to the village. “Freedom” maybe be the name of the village (I know it’s “Bright Tree Village”, leftover from Legends).

That’s right too! The sound of a pan flute causes me a deeply unsettling physical sensation, far worse than an alto saxophone. I’m fully on board with Adywan’s decision.

I would leave Fett’s “death” alone as far as what the original cut of Jedi showed in terms of him falling into the sarlaac with the belch. If money and talent were available to have a tentacle wrap him up and drag him into the belly - then that would be fitting.

The only thing I wish that could get the ‘Adywan treatment’ in that scene, would be for Luke to be the one whom sends Fett into the Sarlaac. Perhaps after he cuts the rope Fett shoots around him with his gauntlet, either Luke flings his saber or he swings it and hits Fett’s backpack to send him off the Skiff and into the side of the barge. The whole ‘joke bit’ with Han, being blind and accidentally hitting him with the pike pole was ludicrous - even at the Midnight premiere on May 25th 1983. Everyone groaned - no one laughed. Even then. Plus Luke damaging his jetpack would lend itself to his fate more believably that Han hitting it with a pole on accident.

So we do not need to see Fett’s survival now covered in the TV show on Disney+. As far as the story goes, having Fett taken out of the equation is all the story needs to tell.

Looks like Lucas considered it. Sure enough, I never noticed it before. There is a lightsaber slash across the middle of Boba’s Jet Pack when Han bumps it with his stick-

Yes. Exactly. I recalled that from sometime back, from a storyboard book some some years ago - so the idea is not mine, but something Lucas originally drafted and would be more fitting. In fact, I wonder if part of that scene as originally storyboarded was filmed. Chewey falls on top of Han in the actual film and Han says “Chewey, you hit?” which would fit the original storyboard of Fett shooting Chewey first before turning his blaster on Luke - who then proceeds to then cut the blaster in half. Luke then cuts off Fetts arm after cutting the rope Fett shoots around him before slashing the jet pack. Not sure when they decided to change the scene, but my guess is that may have been done on set for the ‘joke’.

I was very unsure about adywan’s decition to give Boba Fett a new, finalised death scene given that he would now be returning very much alive. However, after watching what I just watched I have come to the conclusion that Boba Fett died in 1983 and fully support Adywan making sure he stays that way. Very much looking forward to seeing that happen.

It’s safer to assume that Mandalorian/BOBF Boba is a younger Jango Fett clone who believes he’s the real deal (and the other characters just humor him), kind of like how the Batman in All-Star Batman and Robin is likely a random asshole who found a Batman costume in a dumpster.
