Like I already said, the clip is really nice. There is one thing that surprised me, I always thought, that Luke's POV shot where he falls into the swamp needed some more impact. Here's a rough mock-up of what I mean:

I hate to point this out, but the two TIE fighters pursuing the Falcon in the asteroid canyon turn to BLUE before they explode and the matte doesn't look very good to me (4:17). I suppose this is not the final version and you already have in mind solving this :)

For the rest, like French say: chapeau!

I haven't started on the canyon shot yet because i am building a new canyon, so everything will be different in that scene, which is why i didn't bother to alter the colouring from my ESB 97 AVCHD version

Thanks. Also, I think that the shot where Luke crashes his snow-speeder would also benefit from this kind of treatment.

That is in the original and , unless i replaced the whole background asteroid, which couldn't be done, there was no way to get rid of the matte. You can't even rotoscope the asteroid and make it larger so it would cover the original & eliminate the matte because of the falcons cockpit window.

Hi Ady, I watched the new ESB-R trailer and the 2000 Facebook members clip, it's FAN-TA-STIC, thank you again for your work and sharing it with us.

I played them with my full HD projector, and It looked great, even though they are only 720p!
I hope you got someone who has such an installation to enjoy it the way it's supposed to be, anyway if you come by Brussels one day let me know ; )

I also enjoyed the split screen. Is someone (if not you) considering making a split screen comparison of the full length movie, as a bonus disc or something? That would be neat : )

By the way, looking at the new rebel transports, I can't help but to wonder if you did finally go for the 90m or the 120m, as I proposed? (I've posted the analysis here if anyone is interested)

Another thing is R2's blue in the shots where we see him behind Luke in the x-wing. It is much better than in the SE but still doesn't seem quite right (and I totally understand why, I encountered the same problems when making the panels black for my edit). Would it perhaps be possible to just replace R2 from some other shot?

Oh, I just watched Ady's latest clip again and I see that he actually did add a bit of impact shake to that shot I posted before, just much less. Sorry, Ady :-)

What? His panels are horrendous in the SE. They are just blocks of colour that aren't even rotoscoped properly and are all over the place.

Thats ok ;).I didn't add a dramatic one as it is hitting water and not land, so wouldn't be so harsh. I have also given the same treatment to the shot when Luke crashes his speeder

I have only just been able to skim though the comments and haven't been able to reply yet as i'm absolutely knackered from looking after dad, so i'll try to reply when i get a bit of free time.

Anyway, I'm sorry to start pointing these things out now. I know how disappointing it is when you post a clip you're really happy with and people start nitpicking. But on the other hand, I often did go back and fixed the shot and now I can be that much more satisfied with it.

But like I said, it is already miles better than the SE and it would be quite fine if it stayed the way it is in the clip.

I overlayed the panels /head from the GOUT for R2, because the panels were unusable from the SE. I'm still going to try working on them, but if i can't improve them then i will keep them as they are now

Like I said, how about just using the whole R2's head from some other shot? It may be easier and look better :-)

ady, I demand you take a break! We would all appreciate it, I'm sure, and well understand your need for it. :)
Besides, like you said, you're knackered, and more prone to mistakes than when you're you're peaking ;)
