Q – You hand painted the SW:R DVD cover did you not? Whatever made you go into such project detail? And can we expect something like that for Empire: R?
A – I wanted something different for the cover. I didn’t want to use existing artwork so I decided to paint it myself. I will be doing the same for the whole saga.
THIS IS AWESOME! I can't wait to see ESB:R cover! ANH:R was magnificent!
Q – Fans have often asked if you will be adding your comments to Empire: R, any thoughts on that?
A – Yes, i have been asked a few times about doing an audio commentary for the DVD’s but it isn’t something i would really like to do.

Wow... I had no idea Ady had run into the thousands of pounds working on ESB:R already. I wonder what ANH:R's cost was by comparison.

I was most surprised to find that Ady would get rid of Battle of the Heroes from the Vader/Ben duel if he did ANHRv2. I know its one of the breaking points for a lot of people, but I always appreciated it.

Adywan, just saw the new clip. Thanks for posting it. Yoda's facial expressions really do make a difference. The color is exactly how it should look. Great work all around.
As a side-note, my girlfriend works with somebody at her office who has a son that is 13 and a huge fan of Star Wars (old and new). Knowing this I sent a DVD-9 of SW:Revisited to him (complete with your painted cover), and my girlfriend told me several days later that he gave a huge thanks and said he has already watched it 3 times!
I think it says a lot that Revisited appeals not only to the older crowd that originally saw the trilogy in theatres in the 70's but also to a whole new generation that may have only experienced the "special editions".

Revisited is all about enhancements and keeping the originality in the highest standards.
I wish i could upload from this pc my mockups to remind you that my suggested version is exactly like the original version only that was superior and more detailed from the black-y original. More like dagobah.

You can still make comparissons from GOUT and 2004 colors and the basic changes that appear to the clips. Especialy some in your face ones. for example CC, yoda's disapointed face, eye direction, X wing etc. ;)
It will be nice to have the colors side by side in such complex shots like these :)

Well, Ady has neither confirmed or denied changing the Matte. He just said the shot where the X-wing flys towards luke is unfinished. The shot is only 4 to 5 sec long, and you don't get a very good look at it because the X-wing is already blocking most of the Matte when it appears, and it pretty much stays blocked the closer the ship gets to shore.
My view is the matte should not be changed because it still looks fine in my opinion. But if Ady wants to change it, more power to him, it's his edit....

The matte isn't getting a complete change just an enhancement to match the studio shots. I don't know why they darkened it so much for the SE because it matched the brightness of the studio set more in the original version
Yeah, it is pretty dark, but it still doesn't really bother me. I can easily live with a dark or lighter matte. I knew you would never 'COMPLETELY' change the Matte as vaderios suggests. I got the impression ( from your face book quote ) that you were going to be focused on the X-wing itself.

^You should know by now that he usually does one big multi-quoted 'catch up' post after a while that addresses several things at once. ;)
I don't know how to say this without sounding critical, so here it goes. When Yoda says, "Judge me by my size do you?" Yoda now has a weird off the corner of his eye stare at Luke. Otherwise everything looks perfect, great work Adywan!

I agree with ady there. A half change matte will match the rest of the shots. what i did there long time ago. it was quick and i remember some members comment the overall brightness. It was quick i didnt got into that so dont bother to judge it again ;)
Now you tell me how close to the original is and what is better? :)

I can't remeber if you corrected me on this before Ady + gang but the shadow (to me) is all wrong, where is the nose it almost looks like the shadow is backwards
