Looking at this link below, notice Luke is covered in snow in the first (top) shot, in the next shots the snow on his back decreases hugely. If there's any to do something about that or make it less jarring it would be great. Easier said than done, though.

Ive just got to mention that he is in a snow storm, the change in snow on his back could be explained by wind blowing snow on and off his back. Never really studied if that works or not but yea....

It was took every 30 seconds but the snow storm on Hoth looks worse than this, keep and eye on the brown thing in the bottom left hand corner

Yeah timelapse, not real time, but i get your point for stylized time (movie time)

here's the lighting matter I was talking about:

Both Ady versions feels earlier in the day for me…

In the mockup above I tried to recreate the "evening" look by darkening the image while keeping Luke's face still "visible"

what do you think?

meaning like this? I like the concept.

Does anyone other bothers some weird retro fades/vignettes (cant find the word) here and there in several shots? reminds me that there is the end of film. plus we have loss of color and look like dust....

Isnt the first pic supposed to be flipped. the radio thing on luke's hand is in the wrong hand? i think. Also the darker/brown parts in the first pic are missing. Am i see things?

I have a question for you Adywan. Have you looked to some of the video games for additional backgrounds or cockpits?

Thess are screen from rogue squadron ( i think) that has a cockpit for the speeder and some graphics and the second is supposed to be part of cloud city.

I know there are other cockpits out there for ROTJ Revisited that would be usable for bwings and awings as such.

I don't think the resolution (too small for HD movies) and the rendering (too video game-like) would allow any use of these backgrounds I'm afraid :/

It would be easier to build a cockpit from scratch. Wood, paint and car stereo equipment should be sufficient. LOL

I can do things in Photoshop that would make it look better but a static image just doesn't cut it.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

The OT needs to stay as far away from any video game image as possible. The PT was compared enough to video games as is because of the cluttering mess some of the shots were.

The OT deserves better.

Wow, the latest .ts clip looks amazing.

I didn't think that the inconsistent snow on Luke's back was a big deal, but I gotta say, after watching the clip again, it is a bit distracting, especially after that first shot of him, where the snow is literally caked on, then suddenly it's gone instantly. It sure would be great if something could be done, but I don't know if that's something that can be done.

Love the fur!

Was that rescue clip really full 720p?

yes, why?

It just didn't look as 720p-HD-ish as some other 720p files I have.

Are the other 720p files from a 30-year-old movie? ;)
