Its not hate. its Anger!

Lags with quatro CPUs

Windows are in tabs.

Windows overlap other windows and tool boxes.

Repositioned almost all the adjustment and other tools (or whatever call them)

OpenGL features (apart the rotated canvas ) suck.

All i want for CS3 is the rotated canvas. all the rest do the job hell more difficult when you have many images open.

I hope CS5 consider all these... :)

I have to agree with Angel on that one. CS3 is just so much easier to use. And faster to boot. It's like comparing XP to Vista. In the end XP just dominates.

"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

It would be interesting to know what CPU you have. Is it AMD or Intel? I haven't found any of these problems with CS4. After effects & photoshop CS4 boot much quicker than CS3 for me and no lagging anywhere

Lags with quatro CPUs

I have a dual-core, so this isn't an issue for me.

Windows are in tabs.

That's one of the things I thought was a radical improvement - tabs all the way!

Windows overlap other windows and tool boxes.

I'll give you that one.  It's slightly irritating, but not a deal-breaker by any means.

Repositioned almost all the adjustment and other tools (or whatever call them)

This happens every few versions, and it's not like it's that hard to get used to the new locations.

OpenGL features (apart the rotated canvas ) suck.

This I just plain don't understand - what's OpenGL, and what features are these that (apparently) suck?

Nice one! I don't even think any video changes would have to be made. The first line can stay as-is because we can say he's just seeing a huge canyon (which he might've been able to hide in even if there wasn't a cave), then just delay his "that'll do nicely" line for a second until they come over the ridge. I'm sure someone could do it even though it might mess up the timing of the audio or something.

I agree. Just cut out the bit between "There...that looks pretty good.", and "That'll do nicely.". Perfect fix. End of problem. :D

OpenGL is one of the two kinds of programming that video cards use to run 3D graphics and some transparency oriented functions.  The other method is Direct3D.

My outlook on life - we’re all on the Hindenburg anyway…no point fighting over the window seat.

At least I'm getting some good feedback on this, as I thought it would just get dismissed, from being such a weak mock-up.

But yes, I think this is an issue not only worth fixing, but should be fixed. Re-timing the second Han line would be good enough for me. At least it would match the timing of the cave reveal!

Um ... it's still there.  It's paired with the gradient tool, if I'm not mistaken.

Glad to hear the new AfterEffects are working out for you, Ady. Can't wait 'til Christmas to see the behind-the-scenes stuff!

I think Ady said that he couldnt track properly the opening fly with the tauntaun running to add snowprints. Cant remember if that this been settled already but if you say "CS4" can do better tracking, do you consider to add them?

Okay, I've done a new mock-up of this scene. The difference being that instead of saying that Han predicted the cave entrance, instead he is, as everyone here has suggested, first saw the canyon and thought it may be a potential place to hide, but then sees the cave and realizes it is even better than he first assumed.

Half of a character's line had to be sacrificed for it to work, but I don't miss it, honestly. Now, here goes:

I like that. C-3PO's shortened line sounds so much more pitiful than the original, that it's almost an improvement.

I agree, even though that wasn't my intention at all. I just wanted Han's line to be spoken a second or two later, AFTER the cave appears onscreen, and I could either have had Han's and C-3PO's lines partially overlap, which I didn't want to do, or remove 3PO's line entirely, which I also didn't want to do. So I went halfway with the options. Leia's line is also delayed slightly, to keep the scene from having too big of a dialogue gap altogether.

I'm not a big fan of the shortened line. One problem remains though: Han still doesn't actually _look_ at the cave.

True. This scene is starting to feel like holes in a dam for me... I guess there just isn't a good way to really fix the scene, short of replacing the outside view of the cockpit, which is definitely beyond my skills in mock-ups. I give up on this scene, as I've done all I could.

Um....eyes can move left to right without the head moving.  We are seeing Han from the back when he says "Yeah, that'll do nicely."  Maybe he's glancing at the cave with his peripheral vision but needs to stay focused on working some control on the console.

You fixed the timing of the lines, that's enough.  Don't over-think the rest of it.

Oh come on. You're not telling me you only move your eyes while you're driving?

You don't say "that'll do nicely" without having a good look at it. Han turns his head towards the cave by the end of the scene, if one could edit that to happen sooner, it could work.
