Awesome, I remember you saying that the Ronto removal was one of the most difficult parts of ANH:R, so it’s neat to see how far things have come for you.
If you’re referring to my projects, yes.

Short video showing one of the easier fixes being done for ANH:R HD, thanks to the 4k77 35mm scan. Although the video shows just one of the shots which solely uses the 4k77 scan, the others (flying droid and the Ronto in the background) use a mixture of the 4k77 combined with the Blu-Ray, which were a lot more complicated because of lots of rotoscoping and matching the grading to each element.

Nice work Ady!
Looks gorgeous and is seemless
Great work! Also wanted to say I liked the fun rewind effect you added to it. Would enjoy seeing more of that sort of thing in your videos!
fantastic ! ANH revisited has been my go to version of the film for a long time now .
Excellent work.

I know Ady has already said he was not going to use any prequel references he had in ANH:R for ANH:R HD, but I wanted to make a brief case for one of them.
I might be the only person in the world who even cares about this, but I would love for you to keep the battle droid in the sand crawler.
To me, it’s the perfect Easter egg. It’s very brief, easy to miss. It doesn’t call attention to itself, but simply rests in the foreground of one very short shot.
It’s an Easter egg that can work for both people who like and dislike the prequels. It presents a small element that connects the trilogies in a way that’s really natural, but it also pokes fun at them by being a metaphor for the prequels like you meant it to be (garbage).
It’s brilliant, really.
I generally preferred the Purist edition over the original Revisited, but that was one thing I loved from it. I grew up in the prequel era, so I know I’m biased. I just thought it was a very clever way to, at the very least, acknowledge their existence.
It’s so quick, so out of the way. I don’t think it would hurt anyone if it stayed. I think it works in the same way Chopper works in ESB:R. But, I understand why you might not want to reuse it and I totally respect that. I at least appreciate you doing it in the first place.
Just some food for thought. There are bigger things to worry about than this. That’ll be all, your honor.
^This right here.
Someone had to say it. PT overall quality aside, it’s a cool addition. As an analogy, I fucking hate the Holiday Special, but if I were to see a similar kind of Easter egg in Revisited for that, it would surely still tickle me.
Just a fun little wink towards the larger universe.
^ Third vote in favour! It’s a lovely addition.
^ I fully agree with what RogueLeader has said. A brilliant and unobtrusive way of including a little Easter egg and nod to the prequels as despite what anyone may think of them, they are part of the saga.
Most people would likely miss it as well unless pointed out to them which makes for a fun little “oh shit, you’re right!” moment.

sorry,i don´t agree.
no prequels or sequels should be in the OT!
I’m fine with it, but it seems a little odd for a battle droid to be on Tatooine. Maybe a different prequel-era droid? One that was seen in TPM or AOTC on Tatooine, like a pit droid or something?
I almost wrote a Revisited EU story of how the Battle Droid ended up on Tatooine. Basically, the idea would have been Jabba bought a handful of B1’s as guards and ended up feeding them to the Rancor.

I just laughed out loud at this. Thanks

I know what you mean regarding battle droids not being on Tatooine in the PT.
But an easter egg is an easter egg, I would love it back.
“Because you are a PalpaWalker?”
When I first saw it in Ady’s original Revisited, I just imagined how thousands of Battle droids must’ve been left lying around after the Clone Wars. I wouldn’t be surprised if criminals reprogrammed them and sold them as security droids. This just happens to be one that met its fate on Tatooine. It must not have done a very good job of protecting its master.
But that’s another reason I like it. It sparked my imagination.
It’s like that time an assassin droid wound up in the trash on Cloud City.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
And thanks to the supplementary media (comics, books etc) we now know that to be true. The intervening time period was lousy with ex-Clone-Wars droids being picked up and used by third parties.
Are you going to edit out the couple times Kenny Baker’s legs are visible? I’ve noticed that hasn’t been mentioned often in cut lists or edits. Didn’t see it on this projects list. Thanks
Didn’t know if any of he techniques utilized in this Star Destroyer Model video would be useful-interesting nonetheless-

The no Ranto shot looks awesome!
I too got a kick out of noticing the Battle Droid in the sandcrawler. I figure those little buggers were everywhere during the clone Wars, not a stretch that one would end up on Tatooine. I hate to see him go.
Roger, Roger.
Guess I’ll chime in and say I’ll be glad if the battle droid is removed. It always irked me to see a reminder of the PT in the midst of enjoying a good film.

I’m with ya.
Hello, adywan
Will you be restoring C-3PO’s line: “There’ll be no escape for the princess this time”?
In ANH:R the dialogue was edited to “There’ll be no escape this time”. Probably to fit in with the PT.
