Star Wars - Revenge of the Sith - Revised [Releases December]
Teaser [Premieres on May 15th]
Summary:
If you would like an alternate (possibly better) way to view my edits, check out A Game of Clones. Revenge of the Sith was always my favorite prequel. However, I think the problems that it does have are so fundamental to the film that it’s actually very difficult to improve through editing. Anakin’s turn just isn’t convincing. Most people say it happens too quickly. The deleted scenes hardly do anything to remedy this. It’s nice to see the Senators trying to stop Palpatine, but this does little for Anakin’s arc. Since there’s no real way to slow down Anakin’s turn to the dark side, I choose to lean into the sudden turn. I did this by [REDACTED]. This makes Anakin’s actions more understandable, and it gives the title of the film new meaning.
The Look
Revenge of the Sith looks far better than the other two prequels. It doesn’t need much work in terms of color grading although I did do some slight desaturation. I also gave Kashyyyk a bit of a green shift. I used footage from Dsqrd’s edit in several places throughout the film to add in the blinking lights on the astromechs.

Timeline:
Full Changelog:
Opening Logos
- I changed the Lucasfilm logo to a light red.
Shadow of the Republic
- I added this excellent short film as a pre-crawl scene. Aside from being really cool, it foreshadows a lot about the film. It introduces us to the commandos. It shows Palpatine consolidating power. It also shows us the psychology of the clones and why they carry out their orders. This sets up Order 66 and [REDACTED]. I know that 2008 Clone Wars establishes the inhibitor chips, but frankly, I don’t really like that idea. Either way, this short provides a possible explanation for people who have not seen the show.
Revenge of the Sith
- No Changes
Battle Over Coruscant
- I added Obi-Wan barely dodging the buzzdroids from Caleb Gamman’s edit.
- I added Anakin’s ship getting clipped by the door when they crash land of The Invisible Hand. (VFX shot from Caleb Gamman)
- I added an extended shot of Obi-Wan jumping out of his ship. (Sourced from this VFX reel)
- I cut Anakin saying “I sense Count Dooku” because this destroys any sense of surprise when Dooku actually does show up. (Based on what Hal9000 did)
General Grievous
- I made a small timing adjustment so that Anakin and Obi-Wan attack the battle droids in the elevator faster. (Based on what Caleb Gamman did)
Rescuing the Chancellor
- I cut some frames off of Obi-Wan going up the stairs and destroying the super battle droids. (Based on what Caleb Gamman did)
- I replicated a VFX shot from Caleb Gamman’s edit where Obi-Wan’s lightsaber appears to go up so that it leads into the next shot better. This is because I cut the cutaway to Palpatine saying “Get!”
- I cut Dooku forcing the platform down on Obi-Wan (Based on what Spence did)
- I cut “I shouldn’t” and “do it!” Although these are iconic lines, it takes away from the drama of the scene. I also slightly delayed the buildup of the music so that it doesn’t telegraph what’s about to happen. (Based on what Caleb Gamman did)
- I cut Anakin pulling Obi-Wan out from under the platform because Dooku never forced it down on him. (Based on what Spence did)
Confronting Grievous
- I cut pretty much all B1 dialog from this scene. (Based on what Hal9000 did)
- I reordered the dialog so that Obi-Wan says “try not to upset him” immediately after Anakin comments on Grievous’ height. Then Grievous says “Jedi scum.” (Based on what Caleb Gamman did)
- There are two times where I replaced Anakin’s lightsaber ignition sound with the correct sound. (Based on what Hal9000 did)
Happy Reunions
- I removed Mace Windu’s line about how Grievous is a coward. There’s no reason to diminish him. He is the last “big bad” of the Separatists.
- I removed Anakin’s seemingly negative reaction to the news that Padme is pregnant. (Based on what Caleb Gamman did)
Secret Plot
- I borrowed an establishing shot of the Jedi temple from Season 6 Episode 11 of The Clone Wars.
- I added in the deleted scene where Mace, Yoda, and Obi-Wan discuss Palpatine’s overreach with the 5.1 upmix from Hal9000’s edit.
Bad Dreams
- I created a new nightmare for Anakin using footage this AI generated short. However, I used a lot of VFX, SFX, filters, and music to help sell it. The nightmare ends with [REDACTED].
- I removed [REDACTED]
Council with Yoda
- No Changes
The Chancellors Request
- No Changes
On the Jedi Council
- I removed most of Anakin’s outburst with the help of a VFX shot from Caleb Gamman’s edit that removes the punch in on Anakin’s face.
Secret Assignment
- No Changes
Seeds of Rebellion
- I added the Seeds of Rebellion deleted scene with the color grading from Dsqrd’s edit.
Yoda Communes With Qui-Gon
- I wanted to have Yoda commune with Qui-Gon much earlier in the film. I recorded some footage of Yoda’s “Serenity” victory pose in Battlefront 2. I like how it looks like Yoda is just in some kind of force meditation. It also allows more time for dialog from Qui-Gon. So, it reads more like a warning. The next scene where Yoda rubs his head was a reference to a scene from Seven Samurai, but now it serves a second purpose. Yoda is concerned (and distracted) by this revelation. This could also help explain why Yoda didn’t foresee Order 66 and why he gave up so quickly when fighting the Emperor. I’m not really on board with the “World Between Worlds” concept, but if you were so inclined, then you could view this scene that way.
Not the Chosen One?
- No Changes
Seeds of Distrust
- No Changes
Grievous on Utapau
- I moved the Grievous on Utapau scene here because it works better later into the film. (Based on what Hal9000 and Caleb Gamman did)
The Tragedy of Darth Plagueis
- I did a little bit of VFX to remove some dialog about midichlorians. Palpatine now says “He could use the force to create life” instead of the more verbose “He could use the force to influence the midichlorians to create life.”
Kashyyyk
- No Changes
Brothers Farewell
- No Changes
A Hero Lost
- I changed Anakin’s vision to [REDACTED]
- I removed [REDACTED]
Arrival on Utapau
- No Changes
The Delegation of 2000
- I added The Delegation of 2000 deleted scene with the color grading from Dsqrd’s edit.
Obi Wan Vs. Grievous
- No Changes
[REDACTED]
- I added [REDACTED]
Jedi War Room
- I removed some dialog here to avoid repeats from the Secret Plot scene. (Based on what Hal9000 did)
Sidious Revealed
- I added two VFX shots from Caleb Gamman’s edit that show some light from Anakin’s lightsaber being cast onto Palpatine’s face.
Utapau Chase
- No Changes
Mace Learns the Truth
- I removed the other Jedi from the scene because Mace Windu confronts Palpatine by himself. (Based on a concept from TheAlaskanSandman)
Anakin’s Fatal Decision
- I added [REDACTED]
Mace Windu Vs. Sidious
- I removed the other Jedi from the scene.
Order Sixty-Six
- I extended the scene with some footage from Kenobi and The Mandalorian. (Based on what Spence did)
[REDACTED]
- I added [REDACTED]
The Heroes Group Up
- I removed the dialog between Mas Amedda and Bail because this makes it seem like Mas Amedda can see into the ship and see Yoda. (Based on what Hal9000 did)
- I added Anakin’s glove when he lands on Mustafar.
The Birth of the Empire
- I removed [REDACTED]
The Terrible Truth
- No Changes
[REDACTED]
- I removed [REDACTED]
Yoda Visits the Emperor
- I cut the shot where Palpatine falls back in his chair because it was a bit too goofy.
- I cut the scene where Obi-Wan and Anakin fight on the table because there’s tons of continuity errors and it’s the worst part of the duel in my opinion.
Yoda Vs. Sidious
- I speed up Yoda throwing the Senate pod back at Palpatine. (Based on what Siliconmaster did)
- I reordered some shots to make it look like Palpatine overpowered Yoda instead of vice-versa. (Based on what Siliconmaster did)
- I reordered the cutaways to Yoda to make the intercutting less frequent.
- I added in Thire (VFX shots from Wookies Rebels and More)
Battle of the Heroes
- I cut all of the “high ground” dialog. (Based on what Hal9000 did)
Immolation
- I added [REDACTED]
Emporer Arrives
- I used footage from the HDTV version because it doesn’t have a wipe transition.
Lord Vader
- I added [REDACTED]
Arrival on Dagobah
- I added the Arrival on Dagobah deleted scene with the color grading from Dsqrd’s edit.
A New Hope
- No Changes
End Credits
- I added everybody who was credited on IFDB for this film. I also added Wookies Rebels and More, Caleb Gamman, The Clone Wars, The Obi-Wan Kenobi Limited Series, The Mandalorian, because I used VFX/SFX assets from them.
Bonus Features
Trailers
Teaser
- This is the teaser for Revenge of the Sith - Revised.
Deleted Scenes
Obi Wan Speaks With Padme
- This is a concept scene based on a scene from the Revenge of the Sith Novelization. This scene was also shot, but unfortunately it was never released. I don’t think the AI voices really work for a full scene. So, I ended up cutting it. Also, all the information in this scene is present elsewhere, or it can be inferred.
Grievous Slaughters a Jedi
- I tried to remove all of the awkward parts of the scene. Anakin and Obi-Wan’s reaction to Shaak Ti’s death in the original scene is to start making jokes and finish each other’s sentences. So, I removed all that and gave Anakin a more serious line that I generated with Eleven Labs. The rest of the scene is based on what Bobson Dugnutt did in Revenge of the Sith - Expanded Edition. Including this scene means that the scene on the bridge needs to be heavily reworked. I made 3 versions of this to avoid having Grievous say “We’ve been waiting for you” two times. Although I like how this scene shows Grievous actually killing a Jedi, it just doesn’t work here.
Every Single Deleted Frame From Revenge of the Sith With (Mostly) Finished VFX
- This is literally every scrap of footage that I could find on the internet. I’ve restored these shots to the best of my abilities (within reason).
Shorts
Yoda’s Vision of What Could Have Been
- This is a short that shows Yoda’s exile on Dagobah. It’s loosely based on this comic that I’ve seen shared around.
