ALLOL. My wife laughed at that one too. We were getting the kids ready for school with the abnormally loud yelling and struggling because they didn't want to go today. Next thing we know, we get a call from the police station telling us to stay inside. We look out the window and there are a bunch of police cars and cops in the front yard we hadn't noticed, who had probably heard our morning struggle. They got on our next door neighbor's roof and shot a few tranquilizer darts into him. It took several to take him down, but they spaced them out every few minutes, presumably so as not to overdose the bear. I guess they had been chasing him since earlier in the morning, as he was reported in our neighborhood, and he ultimately took refuge in our tree. We had to call the school to let them know why we were late (response: "Oh, you have the bear in your tree), and we just waited till he was knocked out and they put him in a cage and took him away. They also locked down the school and wouldn't let anyone out till the bear had been shipped away. Ironically, my sons' teacher's husband was one of the policemen who saved the day. So I'm sure my boys and their teacher will enjoy chatting about our little adventure this morning.
