Yeah, my Best Buy flyer had the tin listed at $59.99 too, but they don't tell you how much the individual titles are. Nobody else has the tin-3 pack, so I guess they figured they might as well give the price.
Yes, but they had no price listed. They have a "mini-poster" in each DVD with conceptual art. It's probably folded inside.
I'm really curious about this Best Buy tin- the photos of it look too thin to hold 3 DVD cases. I'm also wondering if they're all Widescreen (the SE discs, I mean).
Ok, I just found the best deal looking in the sunday ads. Circuit City will be selling each one for 14.99 with some beautiful lithiographs. You get the corresponding lithiograph for each film.
Best Buy is 16.99, or the tin is all three films for 59.99. (*cough*ripoff*cough*)
Target: Don't know price, but you get little conceptual art posters.

So I'd go for Circuit City if you're buying them.
Your Sunday Circuit City ad listed the price? Where? Mine, Mielr's and lordjedi's all dont...
The best place I can find so far for those is the US seems to be amazon. With no tax or shipping, at 17.87 each you save a little over Best Buy. That is, if you're not after the tin. I have so much Star Wars merch from the past, I don't need no stinking tin.
My local target doesn't even have it advertised, which I found to be quite odd. As for the tin at Best Buy, $9 extra for that doesn't seem so bad. I think it's $60 right now, but will probably go up in a week to $80 (the previous price that was listed). Then again, I bet everyones single price will go up after this week. They'll probably go back down the day after Thanksgiving and then again a week or so before Christmas.
I'm betting the tin at BB doesn't hold the DVD cases. It's probably just that, a tin that holds all the DVDs themselves. If anyone buys it, let us know whether it has actual DVD cases inside or just the DVDs in cardboard envelopes.
Brandsmart has them for $12.88: http://www.brandsmartusa.com/aga/p11.htm
Not real sure I want any since I have copies of the Editdroid version. Besides, I'm more excited about the ELO remastered cds that are also available tomorrow.
I think I'm just gunna pick up a copy of Star Wars, and call it good. That way I'll have it as the original crawl, and it will look up to snuff with my other two bootlegs. Or I might not get it at all. In any case I'm going to wait it out until the 30th anniversary set, which I'm bettind WILL have the unaltered films. Lucas is a smart businessman if nothing else, and these releases are to make a quick buck. He says this is the only release, we buy it, uber cool set comes out with remastered OOT, we buy it. Money in the bank.
I am going to go out and look around later today, so I will let you guys know what I find out. I'm also hoping my local Best Buy has the tins so I can see if it holds the actual movies in their cases or not...

I just got the tin and can confirm, yes it does hold the 3 movies in their regular keep-cases.
Wait. 12.99. THAT'S GREAT NEWS. I think I'm going to get these now. I'd love to get the best buy tin, but it costs 60 dollars whereas Circuit City it'll be 39. Sounds good to me.
Plus, I already have a box for them, and those lithiographs are dang cool...

Just kidding.
That was the price of the widescreen and fullscreen versions at my local Circuit City. I bought the fullscreen also, because I already have the widescreen 2004 edition and I might as well have something different.
Got Star Wars at Walmart for $13.87 plus tax. A good price but it's a special that will go up to 20 in about a week. I got it with the comic book which came together in a nice box. For the price and the exclusive, I thought it was a great deal. The comic is really cool. It has all the deleted scenes and Han shoots Greedo. Period. I thought the contrast on the movie was good, a lot better than the laserdiscs which were always washed out. And the black bars are black. There is FAR less compression and I can see a lot more detail. The only thing I didn't like was how series of horizontal lines in the film showed up. The vent on the side of Lukes landspeeder when they caught up with R2D2 for example. I didn't understand why the menus were anamorphic.
