I liked The Wizard of Oz and the three Muppet movies I’ve seen. Oh, and the South Park movie was quite humorous. But that’s it.

I said I only liked Dr. Horrible but I forgot about the first two Muppet Movies and the South Park movie. And Flash Gordon.

And The Blues Brothers.

Agreed.

Manchester by the Sea (2016) - 4 out of 5
Typically not my style of film but I truly enjoyed this. Deserving of it’s award nominations. Made me thankful I will never have to live through another North East winter.
The film projected so much realism in it’s depiction of the location setting that I considered putting on a winter coat wile watching.

I thought Manchester by the Sea was truly fantastic, but I don’t think “enjoyed” is the word I’d use.

The Music Man is the only musical I enjoy thoroughly.

Guys! Musicals are great! Singin’ in the Rain, The Band Wagon, Easter Parade, Meet Me in St. Louis, An American in Paris, West Side Story, I could go on. They’re just pure movie magic.

Sleeping Beauty (2014)

PROS

  • Some of the scenery
  • Some of the sets
  • All of Olivia d’Abo’s cleavage

CONS

  • Absolutely every single thing else

3/10

I had no idea there was a 2014 Sleeping Beauty.

I prefer the animated Disney version of Sleeping Beauty.

That goes without typing.

Well, it never hurts to type it, just the same.

Oh, I just saw the Snowden movie by Oliver Stone. It was pretty good, a little dramatised to give it some “action” moments.
The information was the same, like shown in the documentary, Citizenfour. People who are interested in it, should check it out.

Carnosaur (1993)

This movie is the anti-Jurassic Park. Whereas Jurassic Park had innovative special effects, strong direction, great characters, damn good acting, and leaves the viewer in awe of the majesty of dinosaurs and nature herself, Carnosaur has effects which would’ve been laughable in the '70s, direction on auto pilot, paper-thin characters, tepid-to-poor acting, and leaves the viewer wanting to nuke the Earth just to cleanse the universe of the species which made this movie.

2/10

The title sounds familiar, like something I would’ve seen in a Video Store back in the mid 90’s. It seems Carnosaur spawned 5 sequels.

Author

Hehe. Also, the sequels used stock footage from Carnosaur 1.

I’d hate to see what sort of cinematic abomination would make you give a movie 1/10.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Edge of Tomorrow (2014)

Great premise, great first 80 minutes or so, but really falls flat during the last act.

The last scene made no sense.

I can see people having problems with the last scene, but its worth it for Tom’s goofy smile in that last shot. Pure joy.

Nothing like Frank Capra to cheer me up.

I watched the documentary, Fanarchy. I did a double take, when I recognised the name Adywan. It was an interesting documentary, and it was cool to see Adywan.

If Jennifer Runyon hadn’t been in this movie, I would’ve given it 1/10.

Though if you are curious which movies I have thus far given 1/10:

  • Blood of Dracula’s Castle (1969)
  • Creepin’ (2001)
  • Dünyayi Kurtaran Adam’in Oglu AKA Son of the Man Who Saves the World AKA Turks in Space (2006)
  • Evil Dead (2013)
  • The Humanoid (1979)
  • Inseminoid (1981)
  • Mirrors (2008)
  • Night Train to Mundo Fine AKA Red Zone Cuba (1966)

Safety Last (1923)
Harold Lloyd’s comedy classic. I was in an authentic movie house from the turn of the century with live organ accompaniment. Harold Lloyd’s granddaughter was in attendance and showed us home movies shot in 35mm before the show. The audience was laughing a lot, there were a lot of people. One of the best movie experiences of my life.

Evil Dead did suck, but I think 1/10 is pushing it. I liked the effects and the camerawork at least. Also the set design was on point.

Cowboy Bebop: The Movie (2001) – ★★★1/2

I think it was lacking somewhat in comparison to the series that preceded it. The amazing music as present in the series was used much more sparsely here, most of the music present being pop/rock songs without the hyper-active jazz feel.

The plot seemed like it was trying too hard to be bigger and grander for a feature film presentation, but it felt very weird in the context of the series, though I’m glad it was all explained properly by the end of it.

The animation and cinematography was just as, if not more fantastic than in the series.

A great watch, over all.
