Kenobi: Trials Of The Master - Fanedit by PixelJoker95 — Page 2

The only problem with that one is you can see the wreckage of the first ship behind Vader in a shot despite him never actually destroying it. Plus, I actually thought it was really cool seeing Vader absolutely rip that first ship to shreds.

We shall see what PixelJoker decides in the end.

Oh yeah, like, as long as the change pixeljoker makes to the scene works, that’s fine with me. He might try his own approach that looks cool, too.

I love super ambitious fan-edits like this. Can’t wait to see the final product.

This is the first edit of this series that I might actually watch!

Yeah I haven’t seen Kenobi since it first came out, and definitely not all episodes consecutively. Seeing this project is going to be a very new experience for me in many ways. I’m sure this is the case for others, too.

I am very excited for this. Finally the third movie in what have should have been the accidental 2nd Prequel Trilogy (Rogue One, Solo, Kenobi)

My Edits:
Revenge of the Sith: Refocused Available

The Clone Wars Refocused: The Chosen One (Mortis Episode)

For those wondering…this will be canon compliant and will serve as a replacement for watching the actual show

Meaning that if you have a media literacy class and for one reason or another…you want to show Star Wars, you can pop this into a Star Wars marathon and your kids won’t be confused

I’m new round these parts (this being only my second post), but so glad I joined this site as otherwise I might never have heard about this project. It sounds amazing. There was so much that was good in the Kenobi series, but it was dragged down by so many poor choices in script, edit and - as the trailer to this project really makes clear - VFX and other visual realisation.

Can’t wait to see this new version, which I’ve no doubt will become my default version of Kenobi. I’m sure PixelJoker95’s work is going to be so appreciated by so many fans.

Yes. I didn’t like the show, but like you said, it gets a lot of things right. It’s the kind of story that just needs more love to get really good. The series has a lot of raw material that can be polished, and it has the potential to become something that the fans will really enjoy, especially in the hands of a person like PixelJoker, who as you mentioned, has the knowledge to make changes to the VFX, in addition to of being super dedicated to the project (just knowing that he recorded new scenes for this edit already shows the level of attention he is giving to it).

Honestly, this series is the product that Disney released that I liked the most. Not for the series itself, but for the movie it can become through the talented hands of fan editors like PixelJoker. After all, I think many fans have always wanted to see Obi-Wan and Darth Vader’s POV post ROTS. This story is more relevant to me than TPM, honestly (of course, if told correctly).

My sentiments exactly. I could always see the intended movie behind the very padded drawn out TV series. I hope Pixeljoker is able to divert the TV shows story enough to convey a more character driven story. I’m no pro movie editor by any means but felt the need to envision what I wanted out of a Kenobi movie myself using daneditors “best of” Kenobi movie edit.

Kenobi Movie - Guardian of the Force

If Pixeljoker was to even get one idea from this collaboration edit for his Jedi master version of all Kenobi edits then that could only be a plus. 😀👍

This seems like straight out of Lucasfilm if they put in the proper effort in the effects. Amazing!

Since PixelJoker was participating in the Kenobi Redux thread I really hope that he is incorporating the great idea from Phase3/Broom kid of Vader getting his helmet sliced by Obi before he buries Obi with the rocks.

It would fix the stupid ending of Obi-Wan just walking away from the fight and letting Vader live. This would explain why Obi is not so uneasy in the end scenes because Vader assumes he is now dead. His effects skills would really be needed here to replace the intact helmet with the broken one for those fight ending shots.

Maybe he wants to keep the ending details under wraps until release, but just wanted to remind about the idea. Fingers crossed…

I’m gonna try my hand in commissioning a Star Wars fan-edit called

Star Wars episode 4: trials of obi-wan

Basically plan on taking this fan edit, SC38 reimagined, and Adywan’s Star Wars revisited into one film

Kenobi is treated as flashbacks while the present day deals the events of new hope

Might even use deepfake tech as well for two versions, one with Alec Guinness and one with ewan mgregor

I feel like the ending of the Kenobi/Vader duel is something that a lot of people didn’t get at the time but, like the prequels, will be re-evaluated in years to come. Obi-Wan still not being able to bring himself to kill Anakin says so much about the conflict and internal turmoil that he did his best to hide going into ANH. Vader screaming at Obi-Wan to come back and finish the job is also an incredible moment that speaks on his borderline-suicidal post-ROTS character. You lose all that when it’s just Vader walking away because he thinks he killed Obi-Wan.

What do you mean by conflict and internal turmoil?

The conflict is in that even though he says Anakin is dead at the end of the fight and during ANH, him sparing Vader demonstrates that he can’t make the final steps to fully commit to that idea. It adds weight to him telling Luke that he must kill Vader by showing it wasn’t a decision that he took lightly. It also adds depth to the “certain point of view” thing by showing it as not only a lie that he used to manipulate Luke but also a lie that he’d been trying to convince himself of as well.

Ideally they should have continued the gag from ESB of have the emperor have a giant hologram. Palpatine’s ego doesn’t fit on a desk.
