I would love a link to watch this. Anything that retconns the horrible sequel trilogy is worth seeing!

A idea for V2 I may suggest is to replace the Japanese audio with dubbed over voices, though I can understand the complications of getting volunteers that can sound convincing but that could be fixed with AI.
Then you have to worry about lip-syncing though
Also… I would love a link to view this edit!

How am I able to check this out?
Is palpatine still a part of this sequel trilogy edit?
Hi there!
I’m a long-time lurker on this forum, and I specifically made an account to ask you for a link to this edit. As a hardcore OT fan who wanted to love the ST but was thoroughly disappointed by the new direction, this edit seems really really interesting.
Send me a pm any time!
I would love to have a link to this edit, please.
You totally have me intrigued to take this journey. Would very much appreciate a link.
Hey there. It’s me from YouTube. I decided to sign in to this site because I would like see this edit. Can you send me a copy.
Hello, can I kindly have a link too? Thank you very much!
DM me this please! Seems very interesting.
At first I scoffed at the immense ambition of this edit but after checking it out on recommendation, I have to say, this is as close to Lucas’ sequel trilogy we’re gonna get! Fellas, don’t sleep on this one.
I hope we can get new and improved versions of this edit as time goes by because even as proof of concept it truly touches the essence of the classic EU and George’s mythos.
Peace is a lie
There is only passion…

A very late reply, but I totally agree, both with this and with other Japanese audio fanedits. It didn’t used to bother me, but now that I’ve become enough of a shameless weeb to mostly understand spoken Japanese, it’s very easy to tell that the characters aren’t actually saying what the subtitles claim they are. Dubbing and/or AI is one option, but “silent movie” style fanedits are very underappreciated (especially since you don’t need to do any audio mixing 😉)
My preferred Skywalker Saga experience:
I II III IV V VI VII VIII IX
I watched this edit last year and was absolutely blown away by how good it was. You did an excellent job repurposing footage from the Sequels, and except for one or two shots, it all flowed rather seamlessly. The writing was also pretty great, something I admittedly wasn’t expecting with such an ambitious fan project. I appreciate the KoTOR 2 influences, as it is one of my all-time favorite pieces of Star Wars media. The only part of the writing that I thought could use a revision or two was the romance between Rey and Ben, as the reveals about her ancestry raise some… unfortunate implications, and some questions regarding who her parents are and their position in the Skywalker Saga (I’m trying very hard not to spoil it, apologies for the clunky wording). But other than that, I thought the writing was top-notch! I think many of the Sequel characters (that weren’t axed entirely) were used very well, far better than their canon counterparts, not to mention Luke, Leia, Han and the others being treated with the respect they deserve.
This is by far better than the Sequel Trilogy we got and has become my go-to replacement for that mess of a trilogy, just as The Blackened Mantle is for the Prequels. In fact, I think both edits compliment each other quite nicely, not just for the similar technique of using the Japanese dubs and new subtitles but also in terms of “fixing” the films they’re based on to be more in line with the OT.
It does make me wonder, however, what the fan response would’ve been if we’d gotten this film (in English of course) in 2015 instead of The Force Awakens, with two more like it on the way…
Thanks for making this fantastic edit, and I can’t wait to see what you come up with in the future!

I’d love to watch this. Send me a DM please.
Please DM me this! It sounds amazing!!!

I really enjoyed this edit and recommend it to anyone who wants to see the Sequel Trilogy from a completely new perspective! It’s not just a single movie edit, but the three films really are unrecognisably recut and repurposed (and even footage from other films is skillfully spliced in).
The Japanese audio has allowed the editor to make the subtitled characters say whatever he wants them to, and it is also permeates the edit with a groovy Japanese vibe that works surprisingly well. For example, Rey seems utterly at home as a Japanese character, she really looks like she stepped straight out of Spirited Away or a Miyazaki movie.
One of the most fun and innovative edits I’ve ever seen, great job!
May I get a link to the edits? I’m very interested in checking what you did
