Thanks for sharing the HDTV II on myspleen. Would definitely be interested in the other SkyHD caps of the other films, though I realize they might need to be shared via a non-spleen method.
Is it still on the spleen? Because I can’t find it, I only found there a 1080p scan of a theatrical print of III
^It’s still on there:
ST II: TWOK Director’s Cut [SkyHD Broadcast][LIMITED TIME ONLY CELEBRATION]
Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.
Thanks, I searched for “Star Trek” so “ST” wasn’t found 😃
I uploaded it and it is still going so get it while you can because it is only up for a limited time.
😃
Have you found out if you can upload the other five films?

I have not heard back from the staff as of yet.

I’ve grabbed it, many thanks for doing that! I don’t have SKY and it saves me waiting for the chance that Channel 4 HD just might air it - and even then, it would be time compressed and very likely censored to fit a family viewing audience.
I wonder if Paramount will go DVNR mad on the impending Blu-ray…

If you get time it would be great if you posted what you thought about this cap in the torrent’s thread over yonder. A few different perspectives is always good for people.
I’m glad I could help.
😃
Done! 😃

Reviews for the new Khan blu-ray sound good so far. There are some comparison images to show the improved color here: http://trekcore.com/blog/2016/06/review-star-trek-the-wrath-of-khan-directors-cut-bluray/

Fascinating. The color is improved in most shots, but there is now a pinkish tint to some scenes instead. Two steps forward, one step back.
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.
Episode 9 Rewrite, The Starlight Project (Released!) and ANH Technicolor Project (Released!)
Yeah! Now if only the other films got this treatment.
On an interesting note, Trekcore pointed out the the terrible digital “correction” of those stairs done for the 2009 disc. Lowry/Reliance seems to do that sort of thing all the time and it’s awful.
Star Trek: The Motion Picture DE - The Anti-DNR Fanedit
Duel (1971) - The Hybrid Cut
The Phantom of the Opera - 1925 Version Reconstruction - Rare Scores Collection - Roy Budd Score
The new BD just dropped to $15 on amazon.

Not sure where you live but I prefer to wait and buy it from amazon.co.uk. If I buy it from amazon.com it might arrive even later than from amazon.co.uk

I’m in the UK and there’s many ways to obtain imports without a long wait. 😃

Have I missed the boat?
Can’t find anything on the Spleen, and they’re all gone from Usenet if an earlier post I read is correct.
I’m curious though, how and why are the broadcast versions so different from the Blu-rays? I don’t get why they’d slather inappropriate amounts of DNR and EE all over the BRs and leave the TV versions untouched.
Anyway, Sky are showing all ten Prime films on Monday July 18 on their new “Sky Cinema Star Trek” channel. I don’t know if they’re the same versions as the ones we’ve been talking about in this thread, but I thought I’d let you guys know anyway. I don’t have the channel, but I’m considering going for a month just so I can cap them.

Things like this can be earlier scans done that were originally made and cleaned up for DVD, but also used for HDTV streaming. The picture quality is lower, but it’s not as big of a deal for DVD, and HDTV presentation might have been a lower priority (especially when it was less common). Along comes blu-ray and a push for the idea that sharper and smooth is good, while grain is bad.
In most cases, the older HDTV transfers aren’t shown much once the blu-ray comes out.

Ah, okay. Well that’s a shame then. Anyone know where to find the older HDTV transfers?
I got my copy of the new Blu for $14.95 @ my local Wal-Mart. I DO enjoy it very much but I still have love for the old HDTV transfer.

Just so you know, there was an error on the disc with some shot of Sulu being repeated instead of showing the correct second shot. The publisher is doing a free disc exchange.

Thanks for the heads up. Here’s the link for anyone wanting information.
