Info: Definitive Collection - Capture List

It seems like many different people have independently captured the Definitive Collection. Does a list of these different captures exist? If not, let’s start one here!

Wow, thanks! To what extent are these modified from their respective raw captures? Are most available on Myspleen?

a handful are on the spleen and seeded but the best of the early caps was Moth3rs PAL set IMHO

I see. I'm interested in experimenting with averaging >= 5 of the best (and unfiltered) NTSC DC captures. There are so many available, so why not?

Didn't he use the clv discs and not the CAV.  Someone else on these boards captured the rarer CAV coffret set.

I have always wondered if all the European transfers were from the same masters.  As no one has ever preserved the german releases this is just a guess that they are the same as the french releases.

Thanks yes Lee did them i was unable to remember that.  The PAL issue of the CAV release in France.

Thanks, and from that I would say I definitely prefer Moth3r's.  It appears sharper.

Is Moth3r's capture suffering from terrible dot-crawl or is it just the screenshot?

It's moderate dot crawl made worse by over-sharpening. ;-)

Thanks for the update :-) I love your release, BTW. Did you ever do an NTSC conversion of it? I remember reading that somewhere...

^Someone else did, Doctor M to be precise. His retitled "Reinventing the Wheel" set is no longer online to my knowledge... it was tough to find even four years ago! I only managed to get Star Wars.

Yes I used the 1995 French LDs (which are CAV BTW). There are too many differences in the video for it to be useful for averaging with a GOUT/DC/Faces.

The "coffret" set is also CAV and uses the same video source, but has English audio.

I think Citizen captured the German LDs and said they were near enough identical to the French discs, except for the opening crawl and the presence of fades at the end of each side. He used the French discs to fill in thee sections.

An interesting project would be to look at the feasibility of averaging the video from the three European sources: French, German and Spanish. I think they are all from the same master.
