I hope Rogue One is not a remake of a description that was briefly said on Leia’s Hologram.
I think the Prequels were a bad remake of what was briefly said on Leia’s Hologram.

Bumping this rather than starting a new thread. I was just wondering what, if anything, you guys are planning for the lead-up to Rogue One? I hosted an OT marathon with one group of friends and attended a Machete order marathon with a different group last year for TFA, but rather than repeat that I think I’m going to save the full-saga marathons for numbered episodes. I’ve got some folks coming over on Saturday for some sort of pre-R1 Star Wars viewing, and I think I’m going to show ANH, TFA, and the Holiday Special with the Rifftrax commentary.
Not totally sure, but considering doing a sort of spin-off marathon with the Ewols movies, Clone Wars, and Holiday Special. Also might watch the PT as this is a sort of follow up.
Damn that’s a pretty rough marathon now that I think of it. Might need to work the OT in too as a palate cleanser.
My lead in for Rogue One is Catalyst with my follow up being Star Wars.
My lead-in will be a finger puppet show performed by yours truly. Here are the finger puppet templates:
Obviously we all have to watch the PT.

Rogue One will be my lead-up to watch the OT.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
Rogue One will be my lead-up to watch the OT.
yeah, this is something i was considering doing. It doesn’t seem right to watch ANH BEFORE Rogue One, and watching the PT is not a good lead in either, in my opinion. I will probably want to watch ANH sometime shortly after seeing Rogue One.
Eh, since it’s not an actual episode, I’m not really much concerned with chronology or comprehensiveness in this situation. I just want to engender good Star Wars vibes and get the mood up for next weekend, because this one kind of snuck up on us and it hasn’t really registered yet that there’s a Star Wars movie coming out in nine days.
Completely get the good vibes… I just have a feeling that i will really want to watch ANH once the end credits of Rogue One roll, and i have a hard time justifying that to my Wife if i just watched ANH the week before. lol.
i can’t believe its barely a week away either. December is a hectic enough month, which is maybe a blessing in that i am not overly obsessing about Rogue One.
I’m thinking of just seeing Rogue one, but then once Christmas break starts (no school) I will do the PT, RO, then the OT.
I’m going to watch Star Wars before going to RO mainly because I’m bringing someone who’s not that into SW and I want to have them freshly situated in the universe first. I’ll probably follow up RO with the rest of the OT just because I generally rewatch them around this time of year. Will probably throw in TFA too.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

That’s how it’s been for me also. Last year it seemed a long way off, then all we had was that one photo for months to fuel our speculation, a mention or two at conventions, then silence for a while. Then, like you said, it snuck up on us.
I also agree with Dahmage on December being stressful enough to provide a distraction.
No pre-listen, read, or watch for me.
Won’t have much time to marathon again. I’ll probably just watch ROTS and R1. And if I like R1, ANH would be on the way.
This is my new headcanon PT. I suppose you could swap TFU for Rebels if you’re not a fan of nausea-inducing force superpowers.

It seems everyone agrees about ROTS novel. Is AOTC novel an improvement over the movie version as well or does it stay unclear and messy ?
edit: oh you’ve already asked that: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Novelizations-that-elevate-the-source-material/id/52304
You should never watch a book and you almost never should watch a videogame.
I dunno. Using time-lapse photography, it’s pretty neat watching mould spores grow on a book you’ve tucked away in a warm, moist area of the basement.
Nice choice!
