I'm Seeking Help Recreating Rogue One Title Sequence

Here’s my rough edit of the title sequence I’m using in my “Rogue One” edit. I am hoping to receive help with it altering or editing, or even recreating (if necessary) this so that:

  • The “Star Wars” text is behind the appearing “Rogue One” text, rather than dissolved into each other
  • Both share the same background of stars, as the current dissolve is noticeable between the two

Is anyone here able to do something like this and willing to help, or already have something similar?

Many thanks to everyone!

Is this just two video layers that you’re cross-dissolving between? If so, to make what you’re describing work you’ll need to recreate the background and then both text elements as separate layers, placing one layer “behind” the other for the intended effect. The STAR WARS logo should be fairly easy as you can find transparent versions of that everywhere, and have it just shrink then fade. The ROGUE ONE animation might be trickier, but if you grab a screenshot of the starfield from that video and use that as a background you might be able to pull it off. So:

  1. Background starfield from screenshot
  2. STAR WARS logo that shrinks then fades
  3. ROGUE ONE video element that dissolves in over the other two

If you send me a source for the Rogue One title card I can slap something together for ya

Thanks for the tips! Yes this is just two video layers cross dissolving. The hard part is exactly as you said with the Rogue One animation. I pulled it from the teaser trailer, which unfortunately, the first frame already shows the text turning so there’s no frame with just the background.

Whoops, nevermind on that. I have a high quality version of that teaser trailer, working on it now

How’s this?

It’s not the cleanest; I had some trouble isolating the title from some of the stars.
