Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 325

Great job, Harmy! Fantastic.

Okay, on to making notes for potentially 2.5:

I think I noticed an error in the movie already, maybe.
At 3:11, right after 3PO says "There'll be no escape [...]" the shot of R2 seems to freeze for a half-second or more on one frame. The audio sounds fine, and the video doesn't skip or get out of sync; it just seems as though while R2 is "talking," part of the video is just one frame.

EDIT: Okay, it's on v2.0 also. Is this how it was originally edited? I'll have to compare it to the GOUT.

Hey Chyron,

Just wondering when you'll have 2.1 up on the Spleen.

It's up.

Harmy put the files in an ISO, but I extracted them from it because 1) I was having issues with it such as opening the ISO in 7-Zip as well as playing it directly in VLC (without mounting it); and 2) for the sake of consistency: the other DEEDs on the Spleen are not in ISOs (except for the SW v2.0 AVCHD), as well the upcoming 2.5 Bluray is required to not be in an ISO, so people can just download the Bluray's .m2ts if they so choose.

Cool, man. I'll keep it seeding for a while as well.

Thanks Harmy! I know a incredible amount of work went into this. It looks amazing.

Will there be any difference in picture quality between the more compressed avchd and the blu ray which will be released later?

Screenshots were posted earlier and I wasn't able to tell.

Tons.  The AVCHD is MUCH more compressed than the Blu-ray will be--as it has to be to fit on a DVD9.  If previous releases are anything to go by, consider the AVCHD to be approximately Netflix HD stream quality, compared to the Blu-ray.

The good stuff is yet to come, pending what problems people might find on the AVCHD.

ok thanks catbus. and thanks for doing the subs for 2.1 release btw.

ps do you like watching my neighbor totoro in english dub or in japanese with subs. lol just wondering. kinda a studio ghibli fan. the only ghibli films I don't watch with subtitles are howl's moving castle, my neighbor totoro and castle in the sky. All the rest I prefer it in Japanese besides Nausicaa which I like watching in french with English subs.

I've got young kids, so while I prefer to watch everything subbed (and I'm even one of those snooty ones who also prefers the literal subs on the Japanese discs), I'll be watching with dubs exclusively for many, many years and they may grow on me.  FWIW I do like one dub--the French dub for Porco Rosso is phenomenally good.  I often choose to watch that movie dubbed in French with English subs (I don't know any French).  Okay, back on-topic ;)

Can't wait to view! Should have time this weekend. Thanks for getting this up so quickly after checking through the final few things!

As for quality, yeah, the AVCHD will be certainly very good, but the BD will be a bit better. Still 720p, but with higher bitrate, it'll look a little nicer, AND include more/better audio tracks, more subtitles, menu, etc..

Currently have the ISO extracted for helping out in spleenland :)

Could somebody please give me a link to just download the actual ISO file instead of all these other ones? It's giving me a lot of trouble. Some of the files say that it's a host problem. *sigh*

Excuse me, but where else have you seen me? And there's no need to be insulting.

At present, there are 32 leechers on the spleen, with the highest currently at 32%.

There is one other seeder besides myself, but I'm not sure where he came from. All I know is that it seems everyone wants in on this. :)

Hi all,

I am completely new to this and am not sure what to do to download the AVHC.  I can see all the links on the paradox forum, but if I type one in it takes me to a foreign site and I need a username and password.

I requested access to myspleen in the forum that harmy linked in the original post.  Will that access information come as an email or a PM?

Sorry to be a bother, and thanks in advance for your patience.

Waiting for the Blu Ray but downloading the AVCHD from the spleen to help seed.  Hope people do the same instead of just grabbing it.

Burfdaycake - No need for a pwd on the rar site, jdownloader helps to have for getting the files.

animemaakuo - Go back a few pages, 323 I believe. Look at Harmy's post there. Can't hurt to catch up from at least there.

And by the way Harmy, thanks for the comparison zip.  It's awesome to see all the changes in detail and I can appreciate 2.1 that much more now!

Oh, what a nice surprise that this is up now!

Thanks a lot for all the hard work Harmy. And good luck with any upcoming projects. Sorry that I don't step by this thread as often anymore, it's just been too much work on my own stuff lately.

I'll help seed as best I can. I'm currently having a slower connection than usual and need to buy a new router, so I'm sorry if my seeding won't be of that much help.

You_Too, if you don't need dual band on your wireless N, I'd suggest getting an ASUS RT-N16 and installing Tomato USB firmware on it.  I've been very happy with it, it is a very capable and well equipped router.

Briefly off-topic: I was surprised with how my 3-year-old daughter took to the Japanese on Kiki's Delivery Service. We watch it in either English or Japanese and I think since she knows what's happening she just goes with the flow. Plus kids are used to stuff going over their heads all the time so I think she just doesn't mind it. But we watch English probably 80% of the time.

Harmy, thank you for all your work on this. Alexandria, VA, USA here.

Wow, this gives me some inspiration on how to one day approach this with my future children... I've been wondering about it for a while, really hate dubs and haven't been wanting to introduce such things to them in what I feel is sub-par/wrong version.

Ok, also going off-topic but I gotta reply to this.

Thanks for the tip, that router seems like a good deal indeed! Though since the new fiber-network in my city isn't fully activated yet, I'm still using ADSL so I need a router with a built-in ADSL modem and I'm planning on buying one named "Linksys by Cisco X3000". I think it'll fill all my needs for a long time ahead even later with fiber.

I was totally trying not to further add to this thread derail.  Did everyone notice how good I was being?  For like half an hour, even.  Nevertheless, don't get too excited about the prospect of your kid liking subbed movies.  My oldest boy also didn't mind watching (coincidentally!) subbed Kiki when he was three.  Now he's five and he has no patience at all for it.  Perhaps because he can read now, but not fast enough to keep up, and the subs are frustrating for him.

What is good one day can be bad the next, that's parenthood.  Also don't get excited about your toddler who's not at all afraid of swimming, or who likes eating vegetables.  Things change.  Every day!  Then they change back again just to throw you off.
