Harmy's STAR WARS Despecialized Edition HD - V2.7 - MKV (Released) — Page 324

Harmy's Star Wars is a pretty big deal to me. Every since the days of VHS  I always wanted to own Star Wars and watch it when ever I felt like it.  I want to publicly thank Harmy for all the long hours and hard work he has put into this.  He would do shots that I thought look great but he felt he could still make better over and they would be in fact better.

To me this is something not to be take for granted I don't know if we will ever get a official release.  If we ever do.  Harmys Star Wars will still be at the top of my movie collection  Because it was done with respect and love for the movie or movies.  He didn't do it because  he had to. He did it because he love to.

I also want to thank everyone else who contribute. Lots of names and everyone at OT.com

Thank you Harmy

Thank you Jay

Thank you to all the members here.

Smiling from ear to ear. Very happy. Nothing but love.

Will the Blu-Ray version of 2.1 have the 1985 laserdisc remix?

We are trying to package this up for Harmy ATM.  I'm hopeful.

Awesome, glad to hear it.  How's that going?  Been away the last few days, haven't been keeping up with this or the 1985 thread.  Thanks so much for your efforts, and I'm sorry I have absolutely no skills to contribute to this!  :)

This is done now, and I've sent Harmy a link.  DTS-MA lossless stereo FWIW.

What's the bitrate, BTW?  I've noticed a lot of Blu-rays with stereo DTS-MA 2.0 that are higher bitrate than what they would be if they were just LPCM 2.0, but I assume that's because the core DTS was a full 1.5 MBPS.

I don't recall the combined bitrate, but I used a minimal core (255kbps), so it's the smallest possible bitrate my encoder could make.

I am so glad V2.1 is now available.

Many thanks to all involved and for everyone who has participated (and will undoubtedly continue participating) in this thread with ideas and helpful comments.

So great!

In approximately 1hr and 43 minutes I will be whipping a disk around to a mate's place who has a decent projector, and we will be sitting down to 2.1 with the kids.

Thanks so much Harmy!

I'm from Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Also, if v2.1 isn't on Myspleen by the time I finish downloading (which in fact should not take very long), I'll upload a torrent of it to there.

By "not very long" I mean 2 or 3 hours from now.

I am going to have to get someone to download it for me.  I tried once and failed.  I am not very computer smart.  I am learning. I can't wait for reviews to come in I know they are going to be good.

Download and install JDownloader, go to the first link on Harmy's 'google that for you' results.

Sign up for the paradoxical place.

hit select all on the links and copy them to the clipboard. JDownloader should automatically take over from there.

Set your Max Con and Max Dls to more than 5 (try 20 if you have a fast ISP) and away it all goes.

How do I merge all of these files into an ISO for burning? And I use DVD Decrypter. Works very well.

I've got a question about those commentaries.  I understand what you did with the Laserdisc commentary, but what did you do to the other commentaries to get them to sync?  Wouldn't they all at the very least have chopped off bits here and there due to the SE sections?  Just wondering... seems kinda miraculous.  And if it really is seamless, I'm wondering if the same method could be used to get an audio descriptive track for ESB and ROTJ.

And don't forget to enter the password into JDownloader, folks.

My Myspleen invites are spent ...for now. I'm sure it'll be available there before you know it.

Just browsed through the V2.0 vs V2.1 comparison pics. Excellent work as always, Harmy (and thanks for the shout-out)!

I have all but part 13. For some reason, it's being really slow. =\

Likely, I'll have it within the hour though, and when I do, I'll put it on the spleen.

If the 2004 DVD commentaries are indeed going to be part of the Despecialized v2 trilogy, I'll be a happy camper. Kershner's senile ramblings on ESB are priceless!

It is fairly seamless at least for the 2004 DVD and 2011 BD commentaries. The 2004 web commentary I got from Adywan's AVHCD, which was 24fps, so I had some trouble synchronizing it, even though I slowed it down what should have been the appropriate amount - but most of the time, you can't really hear the movie's audio in that one, so it's not too much of a problem that it's slightly out of sync. The other two should be in pretty perfect sync, because I attached them to the BD video in Premiere and then I used the video rather than the audio for sync reference. I did have to cut some stuff out but 99% of the time, it's just someone talking about Special Edition stuff that's not there anyway, as is the case with the Jabba scene. Sometimes I had to use the short periods where no one was commenting to move some section out of sync to allow for some SE changes to be cut out without loosing the commentary running over them. So all in all, I'd say the commentaries are in sync 95% of the time (and when they're not, it usually isn't really an issue) and 98% of the material is there (and the missing material is about the SE). There's still lots of SE refferences, so sometimes it's kind of funny to watch the film with those commentaries but it usually kind of works, because they say stuff like "this shot was redone with CGI in 97," simply reminding you that you're actually watching the good version :-)

As to whether the SE commentary for the blind could be edited the same way, I'd say it could but it would require some more skilled audio editor than me to keep it in perfect sync, plus of course it would be the 97SE mix with some of the different sound effects.
