It’s a style thing now, but Lucas probably drew inspiration from the Flash Gordon comics, where every kingdom of the planet Mongo was it’s own mono/micro climate. Arboria was a giant forest, Frigia was all ice, etc.

The 1980 movie took it one step further, and made each kingdom a separate floating landmass.

because figuring out realistic ecosystem variety for a whole plant is hard?

I think of it as racism for planets.

Is it really that strange that each planet only has one ecosystem considering SW is as much, if not more, a fantasy as it’s sci-fi? The planets in the Galaxy is basically just a space version of the different kingdoms/regions of Middle Earth (+ the whole Flash Gordon thing that SilverWook mentioned.)

I’m sure Tatooine is an uninhabitable hell beyond the poles (and the inverse is true for Hoth), so I don’t care.

Tatooine is just Arrakis (Dune). I think SilverWook and ZkinandBonez have it right.

Deep down, we all know they are.

Who’s afraid of Gustav Holst?

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Author

No, the Swedish monarch! Of course I’m talking about Gustav Holst.

This might be the wrong thread.

It has nothing to do with Star Wars.

Author

I guess there is some similarity.

ROTS is also rated higher on the critics side of the spectrum and is rated higher than TFA on the user side of the spectrum. But I wonder what the score would be if all of the trolls reviews giving TFA ridiculously low scores without elaborating were removed.

I really don’t understand why Revenge of the Sith is praised so much, even Ebert gave it 3.5 out of 4. It’s practically the same quality as The Phantom Menace (though is heaps better than Attack of the Clones).

Not enough people read the EU.

Yeah, why did Ebert give ROTS 3.5 of 4?

Author
Time

Yeah, he gave ROTS 3.5/4, but gave Stargate only a 1.

This right here is why I don’t trust the man’s opinions on anything.
