Sky's animated ident for the Star Wars channel is quite lovely:

A lot of FX people who later worked on Star Wars (or joined ILM) were involved with Flesh. There's even a Star Trek connection.

Boy, Kyle Katarn sure is a sloppy dresser -- he can't even be bothered to tuck his shirt in!
“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”
I notice that Sky Star Wars is back in the UK again - I don't know if it's a temporary change or a permanent addition as yet, but if I can goad my family into adding it to our subscription, I might be able to use it for some experimental writing - namely watching the whole saga chronologically from the perspective of someone who's never seen it before.
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

they look like they could be used as Tusken huts
Okay, this is pretty cool.

How come the Empire doesn't implant explosive tracking devices into its prisoners' bodies to prevent them escaping? After all, it seems to be simple enough that even a penny-pinching Toydarian in the backwater of the Outer Rim can do it.

What, no Laserdisc version? ;)

GUYS!!! My sources tell me that may be a fake drawn by the Tom Brady sketch artist.
That's really cool. The only thing that irks me is Ford's hammy expression as everyone else gazes stoically into the distance.
Also: 200 pages of randomness!
You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

Or its military personnel, for that matter. There'd be no fear of defection then.
Ever accidentally go over the hidden electronic boundaries supermarkets have on their carts that makes them lock up? Imagine that happening, only with exploding Imperials or prisoners.
How would you set the proper range? If something happens to your base ship and you can't get back, you blow up?
I think the potential for the Rebellion to figure out a way to blow up every Imperial officer throughout the galaxy by hacking the system, would outweigh the smaller risk of defections.

Nah, David Lynch already used that idea.

Also: dude, when's the next trailer?

I guess Luke was fitted with one of those explosive implants, too.
Who thought it would be a good idea to put the explosion of the death star on the poster? It spoils the ending of the movie...
Ceci n’est pas une signature.
I have no idea, but Luke's expression is classic.
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.
It was the 10th anniversary poster, so most fans probably knew how it ends by then. ;)
This late '83 poster for the film does give it away more blatantly though.
JEDIT: What the heck is Artoo doing to Threepio! O_O

Honestly, it's a Star Wars movie. How much did anyone really doubt that the DS would explode?
