Much better than Bad Probot.
This may be an obvious question, but are the original '77-'83 movies even official canon anymore? I mean I read somewhere that Lucas claimed that the 2004 SE were the canonical versions to him; but since they have changed again for the Blu-ray release, is that version canon now? Or now that Disney owns the franchise, can Lucas change them yet again, so that whatever version of the OT exists when he dies, would this "deathbed" edition be the official (though not real) canon?
"Officially" whatever happens to be the newest release of the films at the time are canon; the OOT, SE '97, SE '04, and the theatrical versions of most of the prequels are considered "rough drafts" and "non-canon".
Hopefully Disney will relax this bullshit so that any version of the films can be considered canon.
Had a Star Wars marathon last night.
I turned on the TV and they were showing Attack of the Clones.
So I decided to go for a 26-mile run instead.

Watching the prequels gets a little strange once the Frink versions become default in your mind. ;)

I actually haven't seen the Ridiculous Trilogy yet. I was waiting for the PT to be finished so I could watch marathon style, but still haven't gotten around to it. I'm also almost completely un-spoiled to them as I've only read the first page of each thread. It's nice to have something to look forward to.
Yes indeed. Hope I get the chance to watch them with a large group of people one of these days.

Probably still another year away, unfortunately.

Oh... I thought you were done with the PT and had the OT in the works now.

They dub Ewok dialog from Jedi over them, with a subtitle that says something like "You go, Lando!"
That's definitely not a soundbite from ROTJ. I'd bet the sound team over at Lucasfilm recorded it for them though. Here's Billy Dee's entire segment.
Speaking of ROTJ, I'm loving this BTS footage.
Thanks for posting the link to Billy Dee's segment. I definitely got some 70s Holiday Special flashbacks with the Meco music and dancing.
I don't think Billy Dee was up for dancing. I hope they paid him well. This segment is a good example of the beginning of the Disney Star Wars push. They already know they have the hardcore fans interested but they want to keep Star Wars in the "cool" area of the public consciousness. The housewives need to be sold on Star Wars so they buy Disney Star Wars items for their kids. We're going to see more stuff like this I'm sure leading up to ep. 7.

First two done, third in the works. I started OT threads just to give people a place to park ideas.

I've been thinking about doing a livestream again...

Ah, ok. Well, like I said, it's nice to have something to look forward to... Though I might cave and just watch the first two soon.
Anyone know of a recorded version of the "Yub Nub" song in a choral or orchestral style?
I know I’ve made some very poor decisions recently.

As a six hour movie (yeah right), how bad the whole saga is depends solely on ROTJ. Even if you see that film as flawless, the whole saga, as represented as a two hour movie, would only be 50 percent good. At worst, it would be a bad movie with 40 good minutes in it.
And don't get me started on the sequel trilogy; by 2025 we could have a saga that is over 80 percent bad!
Yeah I just saw it on Betamax, got it from that crusty time traveler down the market. BTW video piracy on obsolete recording media via the miracle of technology currently scientifically heretical is still wrong.
Speaking of the Holiday Special, does anyone remember between 1977-1983 when you'd tune into some television show and they'd announce "and a special appearance by R2-D2 and C3PO!"
And the droids would come on stage and say something and then they'd cut to Donny and Marie.
Never forget.

Thanks! I'm looking for something for a potential fan edit of ROTJ and a 5.1 version of that track could allow for some things. Eh, putting it on the shelf for now, though.

Why Betamax? Why not DVD or even BitTorrent?
When marketing, and not people, make the movies, it will be 100% bad. That actually explains the whole saga really well. I mean, the real episode I was ANH, not TPM!

Well, Beta does fit into the abdomen more easily than other video formats.
Long Live The New Flesh!
