Yeah, that doesn't look like Chewie. At least, not the Chewie in the teaser. Maybe it's the highlights that's throwing it off...
Ridley kind of looks like little Ani in his podracing gear.
It was puzzles and coloring books put out too early that spoiled the Ewoks for me back in '83. ;)

I think Ridley's look is more inspired by early McQuarrie art of Luke, when Luke was still a girl.

Ah... you mean this?
Reminds me some of the vintage merchandise from the late 70s and early 80s. Chewie didn't always look the same as in the movies in those renditions either. The are done in an "artful way" Probably based on production photographs.

Yes. Hasbro made a figure of her as part of the McQuarrie line.

I do recall some images of Chewie back then that were airbrushed to a ridiculous degree.

I don't understand why TFA Chewie's eyes slant up when in the OT they slanted down...
I've said it before, but it makes him look like he's had a face lift. I can see it even in that stupid chair.

I can't see what you are seeing. His eyes look similar in long shots of the OT.

Chewie looks fine in that shot.

Dear Internet,
Are Chewbacca's eyes okay in this photo or are they still completely unacceptable?
edit: I missed adywan's opinion. Checked one for 'okay eyes'.
To me everyone and the costumes look great in that photo.
Han's shirt is too clean.

He's married to Leia now. I'm sure he has the detergent she used on her white outfit in the first film.
^Wouldn't that detergent have lost it's effective cleaning power after all those years?
He didn't say it was the same box/bottle silly.
Stop trying to sabotage my humour!
It's an ancient Neimoidian secret...
With all the hullabaloo over the broadsaber and how it looked, I quite forgot to worry about how the sabers would be wielded in TFN.
So far, I'm getting a good feeling that JJ knows what is great about the OT and what sucks about the PT. So I'm hoping the fights will be back to the intense closeup swashbuckling duels of old, rather than the flashy baton twirling that we've endured for the past 15 years.
Any word on who the fight arranger is going to be?
VIZ TOP TIPS! - PARENTS. Impress your children by showing them a floppy disk and telling them it’s a 3D model of a save icon.
Very nice! I still think it may be a tale of two Wookiees...
Note that Han has some code cylinders on his jacket.

Just to add some thoughts on how Chewie looks - while J.J. hasn't seemed to have tinged his fur with any grey whatsoever to suggest he's 'aged' somewhat like his ol' sidekick Han has (and why should he?, considering Wookiees can supposedly live for hundreds of years)...the thing that struck me most about his brief appearance in the 2nd teaser, was the fact that he looked so 'well-groomed'.
But I reckon it's the fact that Chewie was just *so* straggly-looking throughout ROTJ, that I kinda still expected to see him be a little scruffy in his appearance since we last saw him all those years ago...rather than the very 'slicked-back' look he had when we first saw him in the original movie.
However, when I checked, he was a little bit more groomed again by the end celebrations of ROTJ...and it's good to see he's managed to look after himself a little better ever since. :)

Wookiee grooming is a pretty demanding job. ;)

Well spotted. All that text has definitely been added.
;)
Nice that they got Annie Leibovitz to photograph them. She did all the prequel VF shoots.
