Cardboard Leia

I just wanted to say that, after eleven years of waiting, I finally got what I wanted: a life-size cardboard version of Leia in her slave outfit. My girlfriend ordered it for me as a surprise (and a new-apartment-warming gift). I'm happy! Anybody else have one of these?

Not that that is going to stop you from dreaming… Only in this case, Gaffer is actually a guy.

Nope, but just be careful not to eye it more than your girlfriend.

Well, I'm sure she wouldn't have bought it for me if she didn't expect me to look at it. ^_~ But still, she recently bought herself a Captain Jack Sparrow cardboard replica. Grumble, grumble, pretty boy...

Nope I have something better; I convinced my girlfriend (now wife) to put on an approximation of the Leia slave outfit. I recommend this to all Star Wars fans or at least those that have relations with hot little brunettes.

Still that is a very cool gift and it sounds like your woman might be a “keeper.”

I hope you get it laminated first.

I'm not even gonna touch that one, MeBe! And, yes, Darth-Adroit, I would consider her to b e a keeper. Thanks. After all, I hope I wouldn't have been with her for three years if she wasn't! ^_~

Hah, I have a good friend who has that same cut out. They've used it to create many humorous situations. Strange how short Carrie Fisher is too.

I don't think his girlfriend much appreciated the exposed flesh though. They had Leia wearing seafood resturant bib the last I saw.

As for getting your girlfriend to wear a princess Leia costume that would be really hot, but I think I'd be a little too insecure to mix Star Wars with my love life that much. Do I really love her or do I love princess Leia?

Actually, on that note, I've never been that attracted to her looks at all. I've always thought she was very good looking but nowhere near my type.

I don't know. A few years ago, I got her to act out the Han/Leia kiss scene with me, something I'd wanted to for years as well. Is that a little bit weird?

And don't forget That '70s Show where Eric had Donna dress up as Leia, complete with the buns.

No Gaffer I don’t think that’s weird at all, but I will admit that I’m not to be trusted in this regard. After all I am the guy that can trace my six year military career back to Star Wars so I shouldn’t be trusted regarding the application of Star Wars to real life.

Tiptup, on the subject of loving your woman or loving Princess Leia you are going to need to cross that bridge at some point if you really plan on maintaining a long term commitment. I was off the boards for the last few days because my wife and I were celebrating our 13th wedding anniversary on August 7th. We keep things fresh in our relationship and that contributes to our stability. Of course my wife is more than just a bedroom companion, she’s my best friend, my foil and my soul mate. Any girl like that (if yours insnt like that then keep looking) will be secure with wearing the slave outfit at some point. Just keep in mind that you need to reciprocate.

EDIT: Clarity.

So basically, if your girl won't dress up as Leia for you, ditch her and find someone else. Words of wisdom right there.

You know what always bugs me? When people (on TV or whatever) dress up as slave Leia but with the ANH buns. It just doesn't look right. In fact, the buns hairdo is particularly unsexy on most people. an 18 year old Carrie Fisher they look great though. It's a shame the slave outfit wasn't in ANH because Carrie was starting to look a bit rough by ROTJ but in ANH she was smoking.

War does not make one great.

I've never seen the "buns" hairdo look better than on the girl who played opposite the Lucas character in "George Lucas in Love".

I do have to say, though, I really can't stand the thought of mixing adult themes and Star Wars. Star Wars was my childhood, and somehow mixing sexual themes or adult humor into it tarnishes that ideal. I thought Princess Leia was beautiful when I was 7 years old and Star Wars came out, but it was from an innocent child's point of view. I was 10 when Empire came out, and she was still pretty but not quite as beautiful as in the first film. At 13 when Jedi came out, I was definitely having different thoughts about girls... but I didn't want that to apply to Star Wars, metal bikini or not. And I still want to keep it that way.

Fanboys nowadays seem to want to jerk off over anything female in everything they're interested in. Frankly, I think it's pathetic.
