Seriously. Chill out on the Lucas bashing, and find some new topics to post on.

We already know we're all unhappy with the way Star Wars has been handled since the 1997 Special Editions. That's a given. It's a lot of wasted words and hot air lambasting and slandering George Lucas and Lucasfilm over and over for the same old things. That's really not what this site and this forum is about. Sure, we all gripe and complain about the things we don't like, but it's not the basis of our existence here. I'd like to think this site is about solutions, rather than problems. Our goal is to push for the official release of the OOT in a decent format, and until that happens we work on our own solutions to the problem.

We'd like to have your input. But destructive criticism doesn't help anybody, and makes us all look bad in the process. Don't make the sole purpose of your being here consist of telling everyone how much of a cretin you think Lucas is. Contribute some constructive and/or creative posts instead, and we'll be interested in reading and responding to them.

I think some people here are on a mission to discredit this site. Imagine what outsiders think when they come here to visit and gauge our opinions and are met with thread after thread of lucas bashing. Do you think they'll take this board and it's members seriously? I doubt it. That's why members like that should not be allowed to continue on their merry bashing ways and should be reigned in before they get even more out of control.

No offense meant to anyone here, but is this site taken seriously by anyone in a position to effect change at LFL? Without any specific information to the contrary, I highly doubt it.

There's some boards I post at where the corporate object of main discussion most certainly reads and takes notice (whether they take action is unknown) - - - but those boards have hundreds of active members and overwhelming activity levels.


I just don't see this board here having that level of influence. I think it's perfectly legit to ask BadAssKeith to tone down his whinging for the sake of less obnoxious discourse ... but I find it unfair to ask him or anyone to change their posting style for the sake of some imagined powers-that-be who may or -more likely- may not be reading this message board.

I was constructive. I offerd to Sue LFL but you guys didn't like that either. I was going to sue them for the original film negatives and give them to someone who really cared and had the resources to restore and repectively release them and sue LFL for a billion dollars and distrubute the money between the people here but you all gave me shit about that. Okay, just kidding, I appologize and I will cool my bashing, but frankly, when I came here and read the bashers, I thought: now this is my kind of place!

Of course, I quite agree. I'm arguing for the sake of less obnoxious discourse. I really don't expect this site to have much of an impact (if any) on the eventual decisions made by LFL & Co. (even though it appears that they do pay some attention). My main reason for coming here is to take part in conversations on the topics we discuss here in a mature and professional manner, hopefully without having to deal with a bunch of "LUCA$$ = F4G & TEH SUX0RZ!!!11!!1!"

Posting opinions that have contain only "Lucas is an Asshole" are worthless and they go too far.

Thanks SKot, you said it before I had a chance to do it myself. This forum is not here to bash Lucas and dwell on the negative aspects of Star Wars. Please adjust yourself accordingly BadAssKeith and everyone else. A lot of people have been saying that General Star Wars Discussion has taken a turn for the worse lately. This is partly due to the fact that there isn't a mod who frequents this forum. But it also has a lot to do with the rest of you who post in here daily. I would hope that some of you regulars would take charge and get this forum back on the right course. SKot has the right idea, let's see if the rest of you can do the same.

And just so you know, this site is probably a lot more popular than you realize. Other web sites link to it more often than you might think. Zombie's crawl thread was linked to over at TheDigitalBits a couple weeks ago. Other forums I visit link to threads here all the time. So I wouldn't discount the possibility that certain people may be watching.

I think BadAssKeith is just masquerading as a 'hate Lucas' guy to make this site look ridiculous with every topic he starts. He is probably some PT lover, who wants to give this site a bad name, so if someone is browsing and they see all these 'I hate Lucas, I hate the PT' topics, they will think we are a bunch of looneys. BAK, you are burying Lucas so much, you are actually putting me in the position of defending him, something I haven't done in a long while.

If I am wrong, and you are sincere, we don't need all the 'I hate Lucas posts', but if you are just trying to sabotage this site to make it look bad, alot of people here are just going to stop responding to your posts.

I think the opposite tack, i.e, applauding Lucas and lauding his achievements in revisionism and prequel creation, would make us look far loonier as a group.

Personally, while I don't approve of too much outright bashing, I find it to be a refreshingly normalized group of Star Wars peeps who appear to have their collective noses a little further in the fresh air zone.
