New details on Discovery. Set 10 years before TOS!

When oh when will they feature hot man-on-goat love in Trek? They are supposed to be progressive. Children and suggestable teens need to understand that their parents who DARE to object are PURE EVIL and deserve to SUFFER AND DDDIIIEEEEEEE!!!

Close enough? 😉

LOL! Sulu sure seems to think that will do nicely.

People always bag on season 1 of TNG, but I watched The Big Goodbye last night and I loved it. Probably the best episode I’ve seen so far. I really hope they do more stuff involving the holodeck in later episodes.

Not enough people read the EU.

Even crap can have bits of undigested food in it.

I’m so glad I opened this thread while eating breakfast.

Deep Space Nine turned from being episodic to serialized, but I would prefer episodic.

If it has plenty of standalone episodes which don’t tie into the main story arc, then it ain’t serialized. DS9 had plenty of standalone episodes.

they had plenty of standalone episodes in the early seasons, but once the they got to the war with the dominion, it became serialized.

I wouldn’t say the entire show was serialized. There was a progressing story arc, but most of the episodes (even in seasons six and seven) were contained plots. Remember the baseball episode?

Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

Well, to me “serialized” means each episode is a direct continuation of the previous one. So just the last 7(?) episodes of DS9 match this criteria. Of course I’m not implying that my definition is the correct one.

I’m pretty sure you’re correct.

Still doesn’t make DS9 serialized in general. At best, it can be considered semi-serialized.

I won’t spoil the end of Beyond for benefit of those who haven’t been able to see it yet, but I can’t help thinking that a perfect opportunity for a subtle TNG reference was missed.

Where were you in '77?

I’m not a big Trek fan, so you guys might have already thought of and talked about this, but…
The Beastie Boys now exist in the Star Trek universe. Does that mean that their song Intergalactic, which references TOS and Spock by name twice also exist in this universe?
Discuss.
Or don’t.

So does Albert King.
