Lucas avoided showing Hyperspace in the prequels, allegedly to not take away from the impact of the Falcon’s first jump in Star Wars.

lol.

Thank god he preserved that important plot device.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

^Why is it laughable to exclude certain iconic visuals from the prequels? It makes sense to withhold these visuals to explore new vistas in the Star Wars galaxy. I only wish he’d done more of that, since every other minute he’s pointlessly referencing something from the OT.

Because he was worried about the impact of the '_Falcon’s" first hyperspace jump, but not worried at all (seemingly) about preserving the saga’s biggest plot twist and reveal.

Laughable because the hyperspace is pretty much the only thing he preserved. And it’s really such a small thing.

I imagine this is how the conversation went:

“She (ANH) will make point five past light speed.
It may not look like (a big point of contention to preserve the depiction of hyperspace until ANH) but she’s got it where it counts.”

Aside:

“I’ve added some special modifications myself…”

So what do you guys think about how Luke and Leia look in this movie? It might be too late for 8, but if you could have made the choice, would you have asked mark and carrie to lose more weight for 8 and 9? Leia was supposed to lose weight for IV but she didn’t but she did lose weight later so they could still do it for 9.

Mark lost a lot of weight and he looks fantastic; especially with that majestic fucking beard he birthed. Carrie on the other hand…it’s not her weight that bothers me. Let’s say she has acquired some droid like features around her facial area.

I wouldn’t say “droid-like.” I’d say more the telltale of an ill-healed wampa-swipe to the kisser.

Hey all, I figured a majority of you already knew about things like George Lucas giving his kids cameos in the films as well as himself, or there being hieroglyphics of R2 in Raiders of the Lost Ark. There’s a couple other cool “unknown” facts about the series that I found interesting. Take a read!

Enjoy!

Entertainment Weekly just released part of the deleted scene with Unkar Plutt at Maz Kanata’s Castle. The whole scene will apparently be included in the 3D Collector Edition Blu-ray.

Maybe they’ll release that extended Kylo and Snoke conversation as well

It’d be a godsend for my Restructured edit if they included the scene between Kylo and Snoke before adding the CG mask. Someone could rotoscope it relatively easily.

I was watching/listening to the TFA commentary on Disney Movies Anywhere last night, and noticed that there was an extended silence while J.J. was in the middle of talking about the costumes designed by Michael Kaplan, during the “Correllian Standoff” scene. However I had accidentally left the closed captions on in the app. Weirdly, there were captions for his commentary at that point but no audio. Here’s what they say:

JJ Abrams:
"And look at these guys.

Who are, by the way, Indonesian actors that were in The Raid,

an incredibly violent and amazing series of movies

that I recommend you kids stay away from."

I wonder why the audio is missing. Was it an accident or a last minute edit? The subtitles are not present on the Blu Ray.

Fascinating! Thanks for sharing that information. 😃

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Sounds like the legal dept. got nervous at the last minute, and somebody forgot to edit the caption stream.

I wonder why. Did they think no-one would get the sarcasm?

If Disney owned The Raid, it would be a different story of course. 😉
