YouTube is fucking ridiculous sometimes. You have to register and confirm your age to see a video that might have partial nudity in it, but try to look up something about sharks and you are instantly greeted with pictures of a dead surfer who has been literally bitten in half and other grisly shark attack videos. Then it recommends more videos of people dying or being injured in horrific ways… WHAT THE FUCK.

Real stuff happens too. I was a Surgical Tech in the Army. I’m sure I saw stuff that would probably make you reconsider at least half the stuff you’ve probably done in your life and maybe even half the stuff you’re still thinking about doing.

Yeah, I rarely swim in the ocean any more. Bull sharks also make it into land-locked bodies of water as juveniles and then grow to full size. Also why I stick to the bail sections on official skate videos and steer clear of YouTube compilations. Don’t need to see people getting killed by cars or cracking their heads open either. Especially since I don’t wear a helmet. Probably should reconsider that…

I watched Blade Runner one night and my parents decided that they wanted to watch too. They didn’t even flinch at any of the shooting, or eyeball-crushing, or any of the other violence, but that one second of a woman’s breasts made them panic until well after the scene was over.

So thought experiment: If everyone in nude scenes wore bodysuits but highly realistic CGI made them appear fully nude, would the rating remain the same?

That is a general problem with society (and parents). They are mostly fine with kids watching abnormal stuff like shooting and violence, while on the other hand they try to hide normal things like nudity and sex from the kids.
