You’re presuming the writers have a say in whether there is a laugh track or not.
Touché.

You misspelled “touchaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.”
No thanks.
I don’t like that the amount of ST related art has slowed in the past few months. I guess we’ll have to wait for a couple of trailers to come out before the artists start putting out more heat 😕

Take it to the Star Trek thread.

One thing GL did right in the prequels, he saved the Vader reveal for the end. It made a much better ending than any of the prequels before it. I think JJ might have copied him a bit when he saved the Luke reveal in Ep 7 for the end too.
Not in my book.
I would have had Anakin missing assumed dead by the beginning of Episode 3 and Vader pretty much as we see him in Episode 4 only helping the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi wearing a mask to hide who he is. Something that becomes more necessary when Kenobi makes him go all meltyburnburn.
I would have done this by having Anakin a young adult in Episode 1 with a wife who isn’t a queen that he gets pregnant before running off to be trained as a Jedi by Obi-Ben.
I’d have given Mon Mothma Padme’s role but not Anakin’s bed.
That way when you see her in ROTJ it’s a call back to the heroes of the first episodes.
Definately should have been like that, and Obi Wan would have a beard already and it would show flashbacks of CG Yoda training him.

Fixed better!
I just had a thought.
Is it just me, or does Luke contribute very little to the battle of Endor after he gets captured? Like, I can’t imagine the battle going too differently regardless of what happened between him, Vader, and the Emperor.
He’s important to the set up for the fight (I’d hardly see shuttle Tydirium getting through without him), yes, but the Death star II would have been destroyed after he got captured no matter what, it seems.

Yeah, the old EU tried to retcon this by saying the Emperor was using “battle meditation” to direct the Imperial fleet and once he died it all fell apart, but battle meditation has always felt like one of the dumbest concepts in the old EU.

I might have gotten used to the idea from the X-wing Miniatures game (Where Palpatine is a crew card that allows you to alter any one die you roll once per round), but I can see how that annoys people. And even if he was guiding them, I doubt he’d turn the tides entirely, the point totals of the two armies were far too large for Palp crew to be relevant.

He made the Ewoks into allies, isn’t that enough?

It’s a team effort. Getting rid of the Emperor and “redempting” Vader is still quite a contribution.
(edit: yeah, plus the ewoks who are their allies thanks to him)

Like I said, he was part of the setup for the fight, not so much the resolution.
His main contributions to the fight happened before the fight occurred, though distracting Vader is a nice bonus.

So what? Why should Luke have to be involved in everything?

Well, he was busy wrapping up the story arc of the trilogy, he didn’t have time to fight alongside the Ewoks.
Sure, lore-wise he didn’t really do much at the Battle of Endor, but plot-wise the was doing the most important job of movie.

“redempting”
You are aware that there’s an actual word you could have used thus allowing you to eschew the quotes.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.
