This is obviously a thread with very subjective opinions. Just because most people like chocolate doesn’t mean everyone does or should.

I was watching John Oliver last night and he described Neapolitan Ice Cream as perfect for everyone. Chocolate for most of us, Vanilla for the boring ones, and Strawberry for the perverts.

I don’t remember them dragging a dog to death.

They obviously didn’t show it, that wouldn’t have been funny (but something they probably would have done if it was made today). Clark tied the dog to the back bumper for some reason, then later forgot about it and they drove off. He was stopped by the police, and all they showed was the leash…no dog.

I’m not going to claim that was funniest thing (although the end was pretty good).

Some Like It Hot.

ha ha ha two men dress like women ha ha ha. I don’t get why everyone thinks it so good.

I have seen the movie multiple times, it wasn’t clear to me. I have never read the book.

Bill Murray’s increasingly deranged pursuit of the gopher is like a Warner Bros. cartoon come to life, and never fails to make me laugh. And the candy bar floating in the pool as the Jaws theme plays is pretty funny too.
Also, best Kenny Loggins’ movie song ever. 😉

Guess that makes me boring.

She was lusting after Tatanio. She also cringed when the SPECTRE man touched her arm.

Firstly, it’s cheesy and I can’t take it seriously at all (much like the whole film), and also, it’s not like James Bond is a celebrity, and M16 is an undercover organisation. It would only humiliate Bond to the M16, and they know how many women he beds anyway. It would make practically no difference to Bond or M16.

It actually would in the early 1960s. If an agent were caught on film with a Russian woman and then committed suicide after murdering her MI6 would’ve been embarrassed globally.

In Flemming’s version, it is actually Soviet intelligence that is trying to set up and kill Bond. Klebb, Tatiana, and Grant are all Soviet agents. For political reasons, Broccoli decided to change the main foe in the early Bond movies from the Soviets to the fictional SPECTRE. I think this might contribute to some people’s notion that the From Russia With Love is “cheesy” or whatever. I do think it would have been a better movie if they had taken the risk and had them be Soviet agents. But then again, SPECTRE is part of what makes the 60s Bond movies Bond and not just some other spy movie. Dr. No and Thunderball wouldn’t be the same without SPECTRE. It adds some intrigue and mystery to it all.

I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

I always liked it that SPECTRE was manipulating one side against the other, and there were “rules” both sides tended to play by until SPECTRE broke them, such as the cat and mouse games in Istanbul.

What SPECTRE hoped to gain by starting World War 3 in You Only Live Twice eludes me though. Seems like it would be bad for their line of business.

Superman '78 comes instantly to mind. Aside from the Smallville scenes and Reeve’s performance whenever he’s not wearing glasses, I utterly despise the entire movie.

I almost feel the same way about Superman II, but Terence Stamp’s hammy performance elevates it to tolerable levels.

Both films are really good but the first is a classic almost on par with the first two Star Wars films and Raiders so 🌍🌎🌏🔄🕛🕧🕐🕜🕑🕝🕒🕞🕓🕟🕔🕠🕕🕡🕖🕢🕗🕣🕘🕤🕙🕥🕚🕦🕚

Salo is highly regarded but I just find it’s message obvious and it’s assault on the audience utterly unnecessary. The sort of people who would watch that sort thing don’t need to. In that regard it’s as much an exploitation movie as any Human Centipede movie and South Park did that better.
