How can Traitors Glass weapon stand up to a light saber?

I been wonder how TR-8R’s glass electric weapon on his gun can hold off a light saber. I thought Light Sabre’s cut through anything but other light sabre’s. I’m pretty sure they used themt o cut through metal doors and stuff in the prequels and those robots were sliced apart in one swing. So how does TR’s glass weapon thing not get sliced in half when thier weapons meet?

I aint seen the prequels in a few years, but I think I do. I’m guessing if they didnt pull the metal away they’d melt too tho. Shouldn’t the glass melt alot faster tho? It’s got a lower heating temperature I’d think, plus glass that thin can’t be a strong as metal in them sticks.

It’s a fantasy weapon, it could be made from non-melting super-glass or from transparent steel or whatever.

The “TR-8R” thing was just a meme that took off. The actual character has another FN- number, according to one of the books. Anyway, where are you getting glass from? I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen the movie at this point, and that weapon has never once registered as being made of glass to me.

It makes a certain amount of sense that the First Order would engineer weapons that could stand up to a lightsaber, what with Snoke’s and Kylo’s anxiety about Luke bringing back the Jedi.
