Where did you get the image for the original version, because that isn’t the blu-ray and it’s overcropped? Not sure why the Revisited image looks so blurry too (unless its facebooks compression playing havoc with the image. I’ve replaced the one from facebook here with a less compressed version)
Here is a proper comparison between the official blu-ray and Revisited
I just grabbed a still from the Despecialized edition so I wouldn’t have to resize it.

Very nice. I hated that they added that bunk in TFA. It’s placement doesn’t make very much sense and goes against the established layout of the ship. But it’s nice to have some consistency now and its addition was pulled off very well here.
Very cool! I kinda prefer that one light to not be working though. Fits the Falcon.
Hey just wondering if there’s any reason to fix the light that’s out in the original.
Continuity?

I’m with you, ray_afraid, the bunk is a cool addition, but I much prefer that light being out. Chewie just hasn’t gotten around to changing the bulb yet. 😉

How many Wookies does it take to change a light bulb?
I am proud to say I remember the 80’s!

2;- One to change the light bulb, and a silver one to wield the ban hammer

This was posted the other day on starwars.com
I think it is a lot of fun but also could be used as a pretty good resource for some of the panels and particularly the dashboard lights which we never see due to Bluescreen problems. I am not an expert on how the Falcon has changed but some of it is surely the same. I noticed a few differences yeah. But what I like about it is you can understand the angle of the dashboard relative to the windows. I am not suggesting you make the Falcon cockpit the same as the force awakens let’s be clear about that. I just like the dashboard lights and the rear panels in the 360 degree photo. And I think it’s cool.
Edit
I have been looking at shots in the film and comparing the dashboard and going by this 360 photo there is many interesting things. But the 2 most important I think is the cylinder at the back of the central divide of the Falcon Dashboard was meant to be Blue? We see this right at the end of the film.
And the small display in the center dashboard is lit blue when Leia is saying “We have to go Back” when they escape cloud city as you can see a grey square in the middle of the display. Lando was looking at it a couple of shots earlier.
But yeah many Blue and white Lights are Black and grey.
Hi Ady I had a quick question for you.
At any point did you consider adding a “glass effect” to cockpit scenes in the Falcon, Luke’s X-Wing and the speeders on Hoth? I noticed this effect was quite noticeable in TFA and added a lot of realism, IMO. Is that something that could be done in ESB:R?
Thanks!

mfastx, just in case adywan’s too tied up to get back to you on this one anytime soon, I seem to remember that he ruled out adding ‘glass-like reflections/or scratches’ like this a long time ago - due to the fact that it would have ended up far too time-consuming to be worth it, considering the sheer amount of ship shots it would need to be done in. And the same goes for all the ‘ANH’/‘ROTJ’ ship shots too.
(Loving the enhancements to the Falcon’s interior by the way adywan)
I think the change is brilliant. Are we sure there are more than 1 bunk? lol… Any way I was planning on changing the Falcon lights in ESB in a future release so I agree with this mod. Looks good

Ah ok, thanks for filling me in!
In light of new developments it might be fun to have one of the AT-ATs very briefly switch a red light on. Inside and outside the cockpit. That way it’s shown to be possible but not default and something done under certain conditions which doesn’t need to be figured out as opposed to having the red light on for one shot with no apparent reason to it.
Maybe it’s like a red alert in Star Trek and Needa is more ballsy than they were before the Death Star blew up 😄

I like this idea! that red AT AT light strip always confused me as it only seemed to appear sometimes, i mostly only noticed it in still images/posters etc…
"Away put your weapon, I mean you no harm!"
I can’t help but feel like adding the bunk is a change for the sake of change. Like the Jedi Rocks number. There’s nothing wrong with assuming that there were a few changes made to the Falcon in the 31 years between Episodes V and VII.
It’s a visual easter egg, nothing more. you see it in one shot. It’s absolutely NOTHING like jedi rocks at all.
I love the new bunk addition personally, it makes sense to me that abroad a spaceship like the Falcon used for long haul flight, there would be some sleeping/resting bunks. Also according to my Millennium Falcon Haynes manual blueprints book, theres a toilet on board too.
Ady, wondering if you ever attempted or toyed with the idea of trying to manipulate Lukes face pre Wampa Attack? ie taking elements of ANH Luke face and compositing over ESB Luke to hide Mark Hamill’s scars. tricky id imagine, maybe too tricky? But you did a bang on job with Palpatines hologram. (edit… I know suggestions are closed, just wondering if you had a pop at it in the past.)

Yeah the Red Light Never Bothered me.
It could very well be a remnant from the first design choices of the AT-AT’s though because they were also originally going to have Blue Lasers. I think the red lit cockpit certainly from an external point of view makes them look meaner.
It could also have been a simple decision so that in the shot where we see the AT-AT with the Red light on (aside from the Binocular shot) it draws our focus to that particular AT-AT as this is the one that launches the attack and fires the first shots.
I’m really not sure what part of ‘SUGGESTIONS NOW CLOSED’ some people have so much difficulty understanding…
When that was put up we didn’t have footage from a new OT era film to look at. Ady doesn’t have to read or implement anything we write here.

It’s not a design remnant as the AT-AT in ROTJ also has the red cockpit light… And Head lights
In ESB (all official versions) the lead walker has a red light on in one shot and not anywhere else.
The ROTJ example too is for one shot.
Ady went to great pains to remove that one shot in ESB.
In ROAST all the walkers seem to have the red eye, my (post suggestion closure) suggestion was that very briefly we see the light activated confirming that it’s not the default setting, it’s something that happens once in a while for an unexplained reason to try and reconcile what appears to happening. But Ady has already said the ST doesn’t figure into his revisited plans and it’s highly probably that the same is true with the spin offs. The first two trilogies are known things you can’t fix the yet to be made. By the time Ady completes ROTS:RE we will probably be on the SST
I’d say it’s a night vision light thing.
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.
Maybe they are developing naughty photos.
I’d say it’s a night vision light thing.
Hunters have been using “red” flashlights to maintain their night vision for years. It could also be a “red alert” warning type light, or serve both purposes. Also, it IS bad ass looking! (KITT from Knight Rider, or Cylons from Battlestar anyone?) It always shocks me the kinds of things that bother people. Very surprised Adywan felt the need to remove the light from his version of Empire.
It was easier to remove the ONE instance of red lights on ONE walker than it was to add red lights to every walker in every shot. It’s not rocket science, people!
