The Mothman Prophecies B-
Even though that’s actually higher than what most critics I’ve seen give it, I would actually rate it an A- just for the tone and soundtrack.

I must confess the scene where Austin makes a list of all his dead celebrity friends from the 60’s crossed the line of bad taste for me. The Mama Cass joke was really unnecessary, and just perpetuates an urban myth that’s cruel and untrue.
Where were you in '77?

Dr No: B-It dragged a lot in the second act, most characters are underdeveloped, and the story is pretty poor, but overall the good outweighed the bad.
Madness.
You lost me at “story is pretty poor”
Dr. No gets an A from me
Well, it’s more leaning towards a B, which translates as a 7/10, which means it’s good, but not great. Maybe I should go back to out of ten ratings.
Not enough people read the EU.

Really? That scene never bothered me. In fact, I released an edit where I removed the toilet/gross-out humor and some of the jokes I found really unfunny/dated (references to Vanilla Ice, Gary Coleman, Carrot Top, etc.), but I never thought to touch that scene.

What didn’t you like about Austin Powers?
I only disliked one small detail… the films
I was never able to sit through an Austin Powers movie.
The Person in Question
Midnight Special (2016)
What to say about this film? It’s…competently made. Basically a pastiche of a number of past films.
Namely, D.A.R.Y.L., Starman, E.T. and an episode of The X-Files.
You can feel the influence of all these things throughout the film. Unfortunately, it never really does anything new or interesting with them. The performances throughout however are pretty solid. The standout being newcomer, Jaeden Lieberher. He does an excellent job with the role. I think he has a bright future ahead of him.
The biggest failing of the film is that you’re never really made to care about the characters. They’re never given any room to breath and so there’s no time to get to know them. As such you’re never really all that invested in their journey or in their success. A pity as with a little tinkering this could have been a memorable homage to a forgotten subgenre.
Jurassic World… ugh… this movie is just bad. I’m not even going to take the effort to explain any further.
My JP series rankings:
Jurassic Park – A
The Lost World: Jurassic Park – C-
Jurassic Park III – C-
Jurassic World – D
Army of Darkness: The Medieval Deadit | The Terminator - Color Regrade | The Wrong Trousers - Audio Preservation
SONIC RACES THROUGH THE GREEN FIELDS.
THE SUN RACES THROUGH A BLUE SKY FILLED WITH WHITE CLOUDS.
THE WAYS OF HIS HEART ARE MUCH LIKE THE SUN. SONIC RUNS AND RESTS; THE SUN RISES AND SETS.
DON’T GIVE UP ON THE SUN. DON’T MAKE THE SUN LAUGH AT YOU.

Given that it received generally positive reviews, you should explain further. It isn’t like people think of this film as Catwoman.
The Person in Question
How could I? The label clearly says “Jurrasic Park”.
Just as the first two sequels to JP, it was a cash in, only this is one of those several years later sequels that’s designed to cash in mainly on nostalgia for the previous film(s). I wasn’t given any chance to get beyond hating every character that came on screen (exceptions being the guy in charge who flew the helicopter and the JP T-Shirt dude). All of the characters were just annoying the whole time. Adding to that, the plot is totally nonsensical. What I picked up from the dialogue, the guy was fulfilling Hammond’s wish, to have a dino park for the masses, that wasn’t based on cheap profit, but on the customers enjoyment of the attractions. Now, the first problem with this, is that in no way would Hammond still want this park to become reality. His line: “So have I.” states very clearly that he has realized the wrong in creating that park. Then there’s the strange technological advancements that seemed to have happened, and really made no sense. And the line about kids not being excited about dinosaurs anymore. What?! How long has this park been running, that people all over the country/world are just completely used the sight of real living dinosaurs. All in all, it’s a rehash/cash grab that is successful because of the popularity of the first film.

There is one thing good about JP4: the soundtrack. Very good new themes that flow naturally with Williams’ material. Would love to hear Giacchino’s music on a “King Kong” flick.
I was never able to sit through an Austin Powers movie.
The only Michael Myer’s films I can sit through are the first two Halloween movies. Maybe he is a nice guy, no idea, but his film work goes from tolerable (Shrek) to painfully awful.
He is like Adam Sandler only more likely to wear stupid clothes.
^No love for Wayne’s World?

Nope loath it.
I’d put Wayne’s World and Austin Powers movies all above Shrek, which is dreck.
I don’t even see the point to comparing them: Mike Myers is not the director nor the screenwriter of Shrek.
Shrek is love, Shrek is life.
Shrek is love, Shrek is life.
.
I don’t know how anyone could hate Wayne’s World. This alone is enough to make me really, really, really like it.
I was referring to the YouTube video, didn’t even know it was a meme.
I liked Wayne’s World 1 & 2, I just never liked Austin Powers.
The Person in Question
I thought Austin Powers could have gone a lot further in spoofing 007 movies. Poke fun at the gunbarrel and title sequences. The otherwise forgettable Spy Hard had an awesome title sequence, directed by Weird Al no less!

Annoying that you can only find a textless version on Youtube.

Goosebumps
Enjoyement: 7/10
As a film: 5/10
The ending was stupid (caused confusion, pretty much created a plot hole), some of the humour was pretty bad and the CGI was straight out of Sharkboy and Lavagirl. I still recommend checking it out, especially those who liked the books as kids.
