Also, this recent rash of celebrity deaths has me wondering who could step in to voice Vader should anything happen to JEJ (he is in his eighties, after all). Keith David, perhaps?

Nah, just get Hayden. 😉

No way Tarkin survived the DS blowing up. And Tarkin’s role in this may be minimal.

I hope they’re smart enough not to give him a substantial role. I don’t think CGI is quite that good yet, regardless of how much they’re spending on it.

POSSIBLE STORY SPOILERS AHEAD!

“‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ news: First story details released during annual Disney shareholders meeting”
The very first footage of “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” has been viewed by a select audience during this year’s Disney shareholders meeting. According to a report from /Film, one of the attendees was able to give a rough outline of the scenes and images revealed in the short clip shown to them.

“Most of it was very quick. A shot of the black stormtrooper, possibly called Death Troopers as previously reported, another pic of that same style of helmet and armor but all chrome, reminiscent of Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens,” the source revealed.

A variant of the AT-AT walker was also shown. While it may be similar to the ones shown in “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Star Wars Rebels,” this variant is said to have a lighter beige color on the side door panels.

This source also revealed that a few sequences of the cast were also shown, although briefly. Diego Luna, Donnie Yen and Felicity Jones were all showcased, with Felicity appearing in what is said to be a ship or shuttle with a ramp opening behind her.

According to the report, Felicity stated something at the end of the footage reel but was not quoted as the source could not recall the exact words she stated.

In a report from Cinema Blend, the information from the sizzle reel appears to contradict what many assumed would be done with “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” in the sense that it is still introducing a lot of new elements to the “Star Wars” universe instead of relying on what was seen in the original trilogy.

This is because “Rogue One” is set prior to the events of “Star Wars: A New Hope” and will focus on the rebellion as they attempt to steal the Death Star plans, the same plans that would become the driving force of “A New Hope.” With that in mind, it was assumed that “Rogue One” would not introduce new elements such as Death Troopers and new AT-ATs.

“Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” releases in theaters on Dec. 16.

I’ve honestly been a bit more excited for this than I was TFA. Returning to the OT era is a really exciting prospect.

There are black stormtoopers in Battlefront. I think they go invisible in the survival mode. Interesting to see what they do with them in R1.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

I’m pretty sure the black stormtroopers in the battlefront game are shadow troopers, aka black hole troopers. They originated in the comics years ago and have appeared as action figures from Hasbro, sideshow, and hot toys, as well as other video games (I’m pretty sure they’re in at least one of the Jedi knight games)

Question - presumably Cushing’s estate would have to okay and my CG style appearance?

Assuming its authentic and indicative of what the final film will look like, then it appears that Rogue One's gonna have some pretty damn breathtaking cinematography.

Is anyone else concerned about the lack of anything for this movie? We haven’t even had an official teaser, and it’s coming out this year. I thought for sure we’d start seeing something, especially now that the hype about TFA on digital and blu-ray is over. Most people have never even heard of this.

I’m starting to get a feeling that the movie’s production is in trouble. They could be planning on pushing back the release to 2017.

You know of the rebellion against the Empire?

Nah, they’re just waiting for Celebration Europe. That’ll be the film’s big reveal. Still have quite a few months to go before the film arrives.

I have the same questions and concerns as you do. It seems very odd that there isn’t any promotion of the movie going on.

I just searched and this was the most recent thing i could find? http://www.slashfilm.com/star-wars-rogue-one-previewed/

Seems to still be happening. I guess we can expect a strong marketing push in May perhaps? just my guess.

I’ve been assuming we’ll get a teaser with Captain America: Civil War next month, but I’m not really basing that on any actual information.

This was officially confirmed several weeks ago if I’m not mistaken.

A troubled production is hard to keep a lid on. There would be rumors if something was amiss.

No way we’re getting two Star Wars movies in the same year. 😉
