To answer the original question:

To which I’d like to add this:

Personally, I think that C-3PO was hilarious in the final battle. However, I agree that the comic relief distracts from the battle sequence and should have been cut.

I enjoyed Yoda’s lightsaber duel with Count Dooku as a child, but in retrospect I agree that it is inconsistent with Yoda’s character and should have been cut.

I agree that a lot of the dialogue was poorly written and that the film could have been edited much better. LucasFilm should have hired Hal9000 as an editor.

However, in spite of these flaws, I think that Attack of the Clones is still a decent film. It is only when I compare the film to the Original Trilogy that I find it wanting.

I think him saying “Oh this is such a drag” when R2 is dragging his head off is one of the cringiest moments in Star Wars history. That just kills the entire thing for me.

It doesn’t even sound like the way 3PO normally speaks.

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

Maybe it was just Anthony Daniels speaking candidly when he thought the mic was dead after recording the sequence, and George decided to add it in.

Only if I could go back in time to do it. Aside from being 12 years old at the time, I would have been a terrible editor. It’s only after steeping myself in the fan editing done by others over the course of years that I approached AOTC ready to actually do something good.

My stance on revising fan edits.

What I meant was, the vocabulary is wrong for 3PO. It sounds too … well, too American.

Don’t worry, as you mature you’ll realize he’s not.

No, I remember my mother and father laughing at C-3PO’s puns. My older sister also thought they were funny.

😄 He was hilarious in Italian. Just before R2 removes 3PO’s head, while in English (I think) he just says “My neck!” or “My head”, in Italian he says “If you keep pulling me like this, I’M GOING TO LOSE MY MIND!”, which is hilarious because of the pun (R2 is in fact pulling his mind/head) and the fact he’s not acting like his usual self, as a well composed person 😄

I wish George Lucas actually wrote that

It was still rushed and unbelievable. Anakin’s fall to the dark side started in AOTC and the start should have been the strongest, most important event in the movie. I find that lack to be AOTC’s largest failing.

But it is the strongest and most important event in the movie. In fact I’d say you could cut out the entire movie leaving just the Anakin bits and it would be nearly just as good.

The other major plot point is the creation of the separatists, and the secret of the clone army. It’s poorly scripted and is not much of a mystery even to young children. Hell in-universe a young child is able to figure it out. Which is sad because the idea of Obi-Wan playing detective with a well crafted mystery is pretty good in itself. How long did it take to write the film? 2 months? A little more preproduction and that whole thing might have actually been good.

I’d say that’s the biggest thing that’s wrong with the film. The mystery isn’t a good mystery. Poor delivery on a couple of the love scenes stands out more because it’s in your face, but is actually less of a problem to the story.

Are you sure they weren’t laughing at you?

Love it when the intolerant and inconsiderate start preaching the moral high ground all of a sudden.

Also you are probably making up the story about your still born daughter to make me feel bad.

Stay classy.

Reported. Enjoy your ban. And go drive into a tree, assuming you’re old enough or smart enough (both unlikely) to drive.

A major flaw with Attack of the Clones is the bizarre scene in which the entire frame flips into an inverted position and the audio shifts into a distorted mess of indistinguishable sounds, and a talking Laserdisc appears on the screen, reciting lines from expanded universe books. Strangely enough, this was only on my VHS version of the film, and when I watched it on DVD this entire segment was missing.

Not to sound to dismissive but that sounds like an internet creepypasta.
