As for the rest of your post it seems like you hate more because of some hidden message that doesn’t exist. You’ll love this mini-series.
Nothing is hidden…it’s boorishly implied in the plot. What is more interesting is how you so easily dismiss my opinion because YOU have decreed that some hidden message “doesn’t exist”. Clearly my opinions or perceptions are of no merit because they don’t share your reality-view. I wonder if this extends into my view of chocolate chip cookies…

Probably more for the hype than anything. It just didn’t do anything for me and the lovefest for it baffled me.

I also think Gump sucks. I think Finnius is pretty spot on in his assessment. I kinda liked it the first time I saw it when it was still fresh, but I tried rewatching it when it came out on DVD and was like “wtf this movie is ridiculous”.

I really liked Forrest Gump when I first watched it, but that was back in spring of 2001 – when my love for D----* was fresh and my now long-dead fascination for the '60s was at its peak – so my overall opinion of the film was obviously coloured by sentimentality. I really need to see it again to see how it holds up.
*Since I’m uncertain as to whether or not I should identify her by her full name, the infamous unrequited love of my life will forthwith be referred to as “D----”.

I cannot stand “The DaVinci Code”. And the book is even worse… the writing is juvenile, the plot is ridiculous, and by about halfway through the book I found myself saying “oh, come on!” at least once per page, so I didn’t even finish it. The movie had the same effect on me (although I did finish it).
I know it’s not generally considered “great”, but some people think it’s great, for reasons I cannot fathom. I would put it roughly on par with the PT, maybe slightly better.

I remember being really excited to see the movie, expecting some awesome thing about decoding ancient art. In the first half hour they just kind of blundered around a museum and stared and stuff, and that was it.

I know this is directed to fink but I want to answer it as well. It’s a movie that basically tells you to do as your told…don’t buck the system…and you will fall magically into riches and good fortune. You can be a complete retard with no real feelings and keep accidentally garnering multiple presidential honors, shrimp companies, football career…etc.
If you do question life or try to buck the system…you die of a disease. If you HAVE A GOAL like owning a fishing business, you will die in a war and some retard will own your dream.
Another movie that is disgusting is Pretty Woman…a movie that teaches you that you can be a whore, but eventually some shining knight will come along and save you…
