I keep wanting this tread to be about the HBO series!

I just picked up a first pressing of the B-52’s second album Wild Planet, and I’m pretty damn happy about it. The guy only wanted 4$. I gave him 5.
My large vinyl collection was stolen several years ago. My current collection is small, but growing. I’m not a huge collector these days, so it’s growth is slow. I just pick things up if I happen to come across an album I really like at a good price.

Stray Cats- Gonna Ball (first pressing)
Pixies- Come On Pilgrim (re-relese)
The Smiths- Louder Than Bombs (first pressing)
The Misfits- Static Age (first pressing)
The B-52’s- Wild Planet (first pressing)
U2- Discotheque/Holy Joe (single)

Fun fact! The first word I ever spoke was “Record!” Well, actually it was “Beckord!” but it was clear what I meant. 😃

(I really dislike that open mouthed smiley face)

Don’t encourage the ass.

Now now, let’s not resort to schoolyard insults.

But it’s factual.

I did not complain about whether it is a fact or not. I was merely unimpressed about your unintelligent manner in which you try to convey what you consider a fact.

I recently picked up Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust! I was so happy to find that one! I also picked up Led Zeppelin’s Coda. I am really hoping to find Velvet Underground & Nico soon, but I may just pick up a reissue of that one.

Even in off-topic people can’t stay on topic? It’s heinous, blasphemous, even downright evil magic. There’s gotta be mention of such treachery somewhere in the internet book of life … I must go forth and forget all I’ve learned.

Someone has stolen my brain.

With all due respect Frink, this is probably like you asking yourself not to post off-topic encouragement and other inspirational tidbits of grand wisdom, wizardry. and malcontent, in Main Forum threads. Just seeing that you typed and posted it that way made me LMAO. Sarcasm notwithstanding, it almost reads like you actually meant it out of respect, which we know just isn’t your style.

You just may not be feeling well today. I hope you feel better soon. Thanks for the giggle. 😃

JEDIT:

I would like to politely add that this post is meant to be fun, not harmful or disingenuous.

Star Trek VI came out only on  a foreign release LP and is scarce, i would like to get it without paying a king’s ransom.

This would be cool to get a transfer of. I don’t believe I have any Star Trek soundtracks on vinyl. I’m gonna have to start perusing eBay to see what I can find.

I remember being so excited about the first two Trek movie soundtracks being labeled “A Digital Recording” on the covers back in the day. The future was here!

Found A+ original MONO pressings of “From Russia With Love” and “Thunderball”. I know “Thunderball” has an exclusive mono mix of some tracks.

Of all the led zeppelins you picked that one? Lol. I mean it’s zeppelin so Obviously it has it’s moments and “we’re gonna groove” will always be special to me as one of the first songs I learned on guitar (btw did you know that the drums bass and vocals are taken from a live performance with the guitars overdubbed and “I can’t quit you baby” is an actual live performance that they somehow got rid of the crowd noise on? The original mixes of both are on the “How the west was won” DVD) it’s vastly superior to any other led zep record.

I believe I have at least First Contact OST on CD. I would love to own a vinyl copy if it has one. Star Trek has some great music that provides such mood and response. It’s one of the reasons I love Star Trek.

My plan is to get all of the Led Zeppelin albums on vinyl, and Coda was the only one at the store, not to mention it was extremely cheap and the vinyl itself was in pretty beautiful shape. Now I just need to find Led Zeppelin I & III, and Houses of the Holy. I may get the reissues of those though since their Atlantic records tend to cost almost as much used. That way I can get the lovely, pristine sounding 180g vinyl, which is worth the extra cost, especially for those albums.

I used to have very negative feelings towards Coda, and after first listening to it I never bothered to pick it up again until years later. I enjoy it for what it is and appreciate it a lot more now (Bonzo’s Montreux rocks!) than I did in years past. I still, in a way, view it as much more of a curiosity than as an actual album; that is a fitting perspective though since it is a collection of outtakes and oddly edited live recordings.

By the way, what is your opinion of In Through the Out Door and Presence?

Both flawed and somewhat mediocre but enjoyable. Presence has “Achilles Last Stand” which is some of their finest ever in my opinion. ITTOD has “In the Evening”, “Fool in the Rain”, “Carosalambra”, “All of my Love”, and “I’m gonna Crawl”

I enjoy Presence quite a bit actually, but it just does not blow my mind like Graffiti or Houses. ITTOD is mediocre but I love Fool in the Rain and All My Love. In the Evening is pretty cool, but for the most part everything else is forgettable at best for me. That is the only album by LZ (excluding Coda) that I can say that about. Hot Dog is kind of embarrassing and extremely out of character.
