At this point of the game if Ady wanted to it wouldn't make that much more of an impact on the release time if he took a wee while to tart up those shots.
If he felt it legitimate he would need to do the same for ROTJ:R (assuming there is a similar shot in that film, my memory is a bit fuzzy these days)so by making the set up for one part of the project he would be doing some of the work for the next.
If he deems it wrong he would be kicking himself hard if he didn't make it right.
But maybe he doesn't think it's wrong.
Just get the colons fixed.
It wouldn't be nearly as frustrating if **Suggestions now closed** wasn't in the thread title.

the only thing i noticed different in the dagobah scene was the spider.i didn't notice any difference watching it side by side with the bluray version.the trees looked the same to me.

You need to tell that to an optometrist, not us.

it's funny you say that because i just went to an optometrist.and i passed every test they gave me with flying colors.at least i did better than ender.he didn't even notice the spider.

Could be the screen. The spider is hard to spot on my 720p tv which suffers from crushed blacks. It looks positively glorious on my 1080p monitor however.
Edit: I know the source is 720p but gives an indication as to the age of my tv.

Kinky!
Does this mean we are getting more AT-AT action in ESB:R or is this for ROTJ:R?
He's just using it to clean up some shots in ESBR, I believe.

Very awesome AT-AT - it looks as though it was taken straight out of the film! Excellent work, Ady :D

I do really hope he'll hold onto this for when he starts working on ROTJ:R. This way, since we know there is an AT-AT on Endor (though it was used to transport Luke, and frankly I actually never liked that concept), we can hopefully get 1 of these monstrosities added towards the end battle.
Perhaps after Chewie captures the AT-ST and after the other AT-STs are taken out, things start looking good for the Rebels again... but then enters this AT-AT stomping through the forest like a boss, where between Chewie and the commandos/Ewoks they must use clever tactics for taking it out.
Sorry getting a bit off-topic and ahead of myself again, but I'm super excited after seeing that image and can hardly wait talking about it :)
Great article over at The Digital Bits!
Cheers, Paul
The AT-AT miniature looks excellent so far adywan, and so does the lighting on your half-finished Falcon over on the Facebook page! - https://www.facebook.com/swrevisited
the Falcon Lighting is superb... Is it just a white light with colored gel or plastic or something for the cockpit back wall to get that effect it is really amazing!

I don't know the specifics of how Ady made the cockpit but I've found a very easy way to light model cockpits like this one:
Print all the walls on acetate and glue it to the original part(s) which would most likely be just a skeleton at this point to maintain structural integrity and let the light through.
Most printers will only print black on acetate, if this is the case, paint the colored lights with translucent paint from the back. If you find a place that prints acetates in color, you're good to go. In either case the most accurate way to reproduce the detail in scale would be to trace the walls in a vector based program, i.e Adobe Illustrator or the like.
Work on the Han in Carbonite continues.... (click on images for larger versions)
Plasticine is definitely the best material for this job. not only is it easy to mold into the shapes you want, but when heated with a hair dryer, this stuff melts. A light scrape over with a wallpaper scraper tool , and you get a pattern that is almost perfect
Sure looks like a 'carbonite' surface to me. Great stuff!
Inspired use of good 'ol plasticine for this. I've never tried spraying it before, but I take it any paint applied to it will not react before you're done filming it?
I hope you already bought the silver paint. All the Mad Max fans are buying it up to make it to Valhalla. ;)
"The other versions will disappear. Even the 35 million tapes of Star Wars out there won’t last more than 30 or 40 years. A hundred years from now, the only version of the movie that anyone will remember will be the DVD version [of the Special Edition], and you’ll be able to project it on a 20’ by 40’ screen with perfect quality. I think it’s the director’s prerogative, not the studio’s to go back and reinvent a movie." - George Lucas

Once the sculpt is complete, it will be cast and a resin duplicate made and then painted

Ah, of course.
Thanks for clarifying. :)
