I have a terrible feeling that a series of treatments I read a few years ago are going to become a reality...

What treatments did you read a few years ago?

 Something with R.O.U.S.es,

Rodents Of Unusual Size? I don't think they exist!

 Westley would disagree with you.

I am what all Jedi fear to become, and what all Sith wish to be. A GOD!

That is a badass looking concept image of the "Inquisitor". If that much is true, I'm all for it.

Ever since the announcement that he was in VII, I knew Sydow would make an awesome villain. I do believe that he would be this "Inquisitor"... he's perfect for the role in every way.

I agree. That image is kind of crap, but right at the same time! Von Sydow voicing him would be great. Maybe the difference in size is because he's really tall.

On a related note, they can easily have a villain obsessed with Vader without the need for flashbacks.

Either that Terminator is very big or Vader's helmet is very small.  Also, wasn't his helmet and mask at least two separate pieces?

Yes, but they probably "seal" together whether Vader was wearing it or not. This could also be ancient Sith armor from which Vader's look came from.

This fellow seems to have a more skull like visage that a robotic one to me.

I'm also reminded of this...

Something with R.O.U.S.es, Luke getting his true hand reattached, Luke and Vader being cloned, and a Black Hole machine.

They were very stupid if I remember them right.

Sounds like SuperShadow. The bit about Luke getting his hand back is definately from his goofy-ass ST treatments.

As a seven year old, I was willing to believe anything.

I look back on them and scoff now.

I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.

He's too good for the role.

This role or any role, he'd nail it for sure :)

Hmm, not sure if I like this look or not. Is it even legitimate? I think it could work but I dunno.

Came across this and thought it was pretty funny.  No more scouring the internet for rumours... now we can just make our own!

Ruh Roh....

As part of last week's barrage of Episode VII rumors, we saw reports that mentioned the use of flashbacks to drive certain elements or plot points of the film. Being that flashbacks have never been used in any of the six Star Wars theatrical films, one could brush off the mention of them being incorporated into Episode VII and simply move along.

However, after video of the A New Dawn SDCC panel hit the interwebs yesterday, Lucasfilm's Pablo Hidalgo took to Facebook to make sure fans were all on the same page with what he said when he mentioned the use of flashbacks at the panel:

Looks like the Del Rey SDCC panel is up on Youtube. I will, as usual, stay the heck away from the comments, but I understand my quote about flashbacks has really fueled a lot of discussion about projects outside the subject matter of this panel. So at 4:20 mark (heh heh), what I said was, "But one of the conventions, as far as Star Wars storytelling goes, AT LEAST AS REBELS, is we don't do flashbacks." So there you go. Continue to debate endlessly.

So does this comment by Pablo leave open the possibility of flashbacks being utilized in some form in Episode VII or any other future Star Wars film? Sure appears that way to me.

The Star Wars rumour generator

checked out the rumour generator. my favorite rumoured title for the new movie is "attack of the jawas." LOL thought it was funny that no matter how the rumours were spun, no matter what actors were slated to appear and what plot twists were set to occur.....every incarnation of the movie has andy serkis as a stop-motion alien. i guess he is the only person known for that and they couldnt substitute anyone else in for him!

Thanks for sharing. i got a kick out of this. :)

Meh. I'm frankly disappointed that it wasn't more interactive. Simply pressing a "GENERATE" button sucks all the fun and creativity out of it.

Yeah, it could have been more interesting...more like one of those "choose your own adventure books"....but it was still a fun little diversion :)

I can imagine evil Carrie hiding under that scary cyborg mask (she did something similar in ROTJ)

The markings on the Falcon seem to have changed a little bit over the years.

Definitely a rebel base vibe about the location. Surprised if it hasn't been in other movies before.

It reminds me of Yavin because of the greenery, but some suggest it could be Dantooine.  Or it may be a new planet.
