I just came here to post that. :(

This should get an outdoor screening in Austin, TX.
I am making a star wars SE restoration of the full screen and widescreen VHS of the 1997 special edition (which is the version I grew up with.)

Wrong section. Also, how's this for a better profile. An attention getter. Something to really inform and hype what you're doing. Something like-
A number of us here at OT.com, while liking the original versions, also have a soft spot for the 1997 cuts of this ever-so-special trilogy. However, the continual edits from Mr. Lucas meant that several changes were enacted for the 2004 DVD. Now, there do exist several high-quality versions of these cuts, but some of us have overwhelming nostalgia for the original analog formats they were released on. Thus, I found it necessary to work on a preservation effort of the original VHS tapes.
I’m just here because I’m driving tonight.
I'm only doing this because I got the idea while recording the vhs tapes for my lightspeed edition. Adywan did (mainly) the same thing and nobody complained so, why can't I do something special edition related too?

I was only suggesting that you spice up your OP to improve interest.

okay, what is good about this is it is a dvd file so, people who grew up with the 1997 special edition can have it on DVD (if they want).

But I want it on VHS....it's the version I grew up with.*

* Actually, it's not.
Star Wars Episode XXX: Erica Strikes Back
If you want Nice, go to France
All I do is transfer the VHS footage to DVD and Blu Ray. I am also, upscale it to 1080p HD.

More info please, e.g.:
What VHS deck are you using? DVD recorder or capture card? Any post-processing (you need to at least IVTC if you want to upscale)? Why do you feel it is necessary to upscale to 1080p and what are you using to do this?

I am using RCA USB Cables,a VCR, and a VHS to DVD program called "Golden Videos". I record the VHS footage on to a DVD (I only turn the Blu-Ray to 1080p HD by using "VideoPad" Video Editor to render it so, it can be played in 1080p HD. Then, I burn it onto a Blu-Ray Disc by using a Blu-Ray burner.). Then, I use "ImgBurn" to turn the DVD/Blu-Ray footage into an ISO.

Thanks!

Sounds like a generic USB capture device with RCA inputs. Do you have a make/model?
a VCR,
What deck? Does it have a built-in TBC or any image stabilization features?
and a VHS to DVD program called "Golden Videos".
Interesting, never heard of it. Why did you decide to use this instead of the popular free software VirtualDub?

So your program converts to MPEG2 for DVD-Video on-the-fly?

Can you upload a sample of what this looks like? Would it not be better to let your TV do the upscaling?

I'm upscaling the footage so, it will look good for a source for my star wars lightspeed edition (which I am taking a break from).

You are aware that there're several high-quality TV broadcasts of the 1997 SE floating out there right? The VHS is going to look terrible.
This isn't The Thief and the Cobbler, there exist some high-quality sources out there. You don't have to turn to VHS.

Okay, you know what. This project is canceled due to people saying there are HD TV broadcasts of this. However I am starting a new project.
