Hmmm... "A New Thread for It?" Doesn't really sound very Star-Wars-y...

How about a new thread for it?
Right - that's why I was asking what you'd like to call it?

I vote for this :D
Along the same lines, Poita Entry could work.
I baked both EIAJ tapes, and they now are playing fine.
Unfortunately, it is at this point that things became quite a bit less interesting, as the scroll came up "Ep. IV..." etc. Seems quite strange to me that someone at this late date would still be recording to a black and white EIAJ machine.
Anyhow, I'm digitizing them.

Poiita no return it is then...
Well, I would have been *very* surprised if the Ep IV was missing from the crawl, quite interested to see what it is though. Do you think it is a recording of one of the early pay per view broadcasts?

I will know more after I've had a chance to look at it.
I was actually surprised to see the Ep.IV. EIAJ was pretty much gone by 1978 or 1979. So I was expecting this to be a copy of an early bootleg. Hopefully it's from a broadcast - but I think it is more likely that someone just hooked up their EIAJ to someone else's VHS and for someone unknown reason made an EIAJ dub of it. A dub of a broadcast would be much more interesting.

Wasn't sure where to post this...
Would it be worth it just to get the Sebastian Shaw shot?
Where were you in '77?
It would definitely be worth!
Yeah, having the best quality 35mm print of the real Anakin possible to scan would be great. :) Plus it might be helpful in other ways, as the general quality of a print after the restoration should be really nice (not counting any color corrections that might be needed).
I notice it sold already, did someone here get it? :)
The Star Wars trilogy. There can be only one.
Damn! I sure hope so...

Shots... don't forget his eyebrow removal ;)
Also for some shots at Jabba's palace (like the palace gate, or where Sebulba shows up).

Why does everyone have to be so racist about aliens? It's obviously just a Dug. It's not like every human running around is Jira the fruit lady or every Wookiee is Chewie.
The Dug in question looks more like the "Jedi Poodo!" guy in AOTC. Also known as "It's that Anakin Sywalker guy!" guy in AOTR...
Looks like they didn't even bother changing the model at all for Jedi.

This may have been answered already in the thread, but what exactly is going to happen to this print? It's in good hands for sure, but is there a way to use this as a reference or do we not have the proper tools/technology to work with this similar to what team negative is doing for the 35mm print?
Looking forward to more on this project.
Cheers!
Any progress on this?
